This windshield cover comes in different sizes. It is worthwhile to take a moment to measure the length of your windshield to ensure you get the proper size. I have had snow protectors in the past, and they have been a very light nylon which it hears to the car with magnets sewn into the upper and lower borders. This cover, in contrast, is constructed from a much heavier and durable material. The plus is it durability, the minus, if any, is that it is heavier and thicker when folded and stored. The windshield cover is secured to the car with waited “wings“ on either side. these “wings“ are secured by the front doors. With the doors closed, the windshield cannot be removed. Further, to secure the cover to the windshield or a pair of elastic straps which are held in place by the rearview mirror on each door. The heaviness of the material plus being secured around the two rearview mirrors, prevents the windshield cover from being blown up off the windshield by gusts of wind, thus ensuring that rain, snow, bird droppings, and just plain dirt don’t dirty the windshield. I use this cover on my, second car which is in frequently used to prevent the windshield from being covered by dust, dart and grime by sitting for long periods of time without being used. I simply remove the windshield cover, folded and toss it in the trunk and I am good to go. Obviously, if your car is parked in the northern part of the US, which is subject to snow, this cover is a serious time saver the morning after a snowfall.

This windshield cover seems to be made very well, the stitching is well-done and the material is pretty sturdy like heavy canvas. It has elastic loops which stretch over your car's mirrors to hold it into place and also flaps that you shut into your doors. It should protect the windshield from rain, hail or maybe branches or such that might fall onto it and I can see how it would cover the windshield from the snow/ice. However, it does not shield the interior to keep it cooler as I had hoped it would, pretty much the opposite. It will shield your dashboard from the sun but it keeps the heat in too. It' s a good windshield cover for other purposes.
