Cam Buckle Tie Down

1 inch Cam Buckle Straps

  • 1 inch Cam Buckle Straps are amongst one of the most popular types of tie-down straps in the United States. One of the many reasons that they have gained traction in the last decade is due to the ability to secure cargo without the risk of over-tightening which in return could cause damage to your cargo. This makes these straps great for those who are securing valuable cargo, antiques, or personal belongings that can not always be replaced with money.

  • 1 inch Cam Buckle Straps can be made in a wide variety of different end fitting hardware such as S Hooks, E Track Fittings, Plate Trailer F Hooks, Wire Hooks, Flat Snap Hooks, and more! Along with the various amounts of hardware, you can also have the strap made in almost any color of polyester tie down webbing and length of webbing as well in order to help you make the perfect cam buckle strap.

  • 1 inch Cam Buckle Straps which provides you with a heavier duty cargo securement. It is crucial that you never exceed the working load limit tag that is located on your tie-down strap as it is dangerous to do so. If your cam buckle strap or tie-down strap does not have a working load limit tag they are unsafe to use and should be replaced as they are not allowed to be used according to the Department of Transportation industry standards.

How to Tighten a Cam Buckle Strap Instructions

  1. Press the Release Lever to open the Cam Buckle Strap.
  2. Slide the strap in through the back of the Cam Buckle hardware and out through the front. – Do not feed through the front of the strap.
  3. Tighten the excess slack to the desired strength of your cargo.
  4. Once you have reached the desired strength of your Cam Buckle Strap ensure that the Cam Buckle Hardware is completely closed and you are good to hit the road!

Did you know that one of the advantages of using Cam Buckle Straps over Ratchet Straps is that it is very hard to over-tighten your cargo securement? This prevents damage claims and cargo becoming damaged from being over-tightened

How to Release a Cam Buckle Strap Instructions

  1. When you arrive at your next destination and you are ready to release your cargo simply open the Cam Buckle Hardware completely open
  2. Next, pull the webbing back through the Cam Buckle to untighten the excess slack to release the webbing.
  3. Once you are done you can store these straps in a safe and dry location to be used at a different point in time.

These straps have been holding up really well to a lot of use. They are very easy to attach and tighten. I haven't experienced any issues at all with the fastener part. I have one strap that has begun to fray down one side. Not sure if it is a defect or if I rubbed it against something but it's still usable. These are very reliable and strong straps.

Great multipurpose straps to have in the vehicle. I never know when I will buySomething on Facebook market or find something thrifting so they are always great to have!

I have only used these a handful of times since purchased, but they have worked flawlessly. Great quantity for the price. No complaints.

Bought these to help us strap down our kayaks since you should not use ratchet straps. They worked great and I'll be able to use them for other purposes.

I've used a similar product made by Thule for 20 years. Unfortunately, I sent my son home with them because I bought his wife a book case and they needed to drive 4 hours with it on their roof rack. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I find myself needing to carry my kayaks on my Highlander roof rack to go camping. I purchased this set and was immediately pleased with the value and versatility. The box comes with eight straps. Sounds like a lot. I only need two to strap my kayak to the rack. But wait, by the time I had returned from camping, I'd used all eight sets securing a tarp between two vehicles to provide shade, strapped an awning to the side of our tent trailer that was pulling loose in a 70 mile an hour headwind (used three in looped series), and of course the kayak itself. I've since bought a second full set to carry in my Rav4 and recommend that every car with a rack have a set.

Our old cam straps were showing a little wear and with a 19 hour round trip, I decided it would be best to buy some new straps. These worked very well. I’m sure there are thicker straps you can buy, but you really can’t beat these for the price and they are nice and strong. They may wear out faster than more expensive thicker ones (we’ll see as time goes on), but at this price, that’s not a big deal. We strapped our kayaks to our roof rack with these and the kayaks didn’t budge. Both days were also extremely windy (wind advisory) and the kayaks held rock solid. I’d definitely recommend these and would definitely buy them again.

It's a proven design. The materials are on the cheap side, but for my application (tie down kayaks on car's rack) it did the job well. And for what I paid for, it's well worth the money. Depending on your application, if you need tougher materials I would go for NRS brand, but it quite a bit more expensive.
