This does not work with Windows 10. So unless your putting an old motherboard with windows 7 installed into a new case, then you probably don't want this.

I've tried different brands and types of PCI-E USB 3.0 cards over the years for various upgrades and this one is my go to card. Some of the other one's need drivers to work, or are not recognized by the OS. This one has worked fine for me in both Windows and Linux. Transfer speed is right on par. Like I stated, I have bought several of these. I have never had one fail on me yet. Have used them in Dell's, HP's, Acer, Lenovo without any issue at all. This is one of those items I have saved in my private wish list to easily find it again whenever I need another for a project because I know it's one of those components that are reliable and just plain works.

I specifically ordered this one with a 4-pin Floppy (Berg) power connector onboard, but instead received the model with the larger common 4-pin Molex power connector.I'm not going to return it... It's no big deal... I have a spare Molex plug... But it's not what I ordered. It works fine.Fun side note: It still came with the little Molex to Berg adapter, which is rendered useless.

Works reasonably well with the front usb 3.0 ports and was able to get the speeds that my external hard drive would get from any other usb 3.0 port.

Used this card to upgrade an old PC. I now have better USB speeds when making data transfers to my USB sticks. Easy to install. One note, make sure you have an open SATA power connection in your computer. I needed to get a "Y" connector for my old PC, because It had no extra STAT power plug.

Works great was easy to install and didn't have to install any drivers for it on my Windows 10 machine.

I coupled this with a seagate 3tb 5400 rpm and a hitachi 1tb 7200 rpm (both external). Avg transfer speeds were around 100MB/s. It supports UASP, which will benefit external SSDs. It includes both a low profile bracket and a standard profile bracket (which was not stated, so I am thankful for that). Driver install was painless in WIN7 64 bit. Overall great value if you don't want to upgrade your motherboard to get usb 3.0 support. Would definitely recommend to others. -1 star for the lack of documentation (assuming you have any issues).EDIT: 21 APR 2014 - I paired this card with an external ssd in a UASP compatible enclosure. Average transfer speed hovered between 150-160 MB/s. After downloading a driver from the Sedna website, average transfer speeds were around 220-230 MB/s. I was copying to a SATA II SSD, so it could even possibly be faster. It was very nice to restore 44 GB of data with a few minutes!
