The shape is odd so unfortunately it's unusable for our purposes.

Great design. Designed to be a little more sturdy than your average version of this latch.

Likes: It is black. It is metal. It comes with attachment screws.Dislikes: This latch was ordered on August 8th. It wasn't delivered until August 28th. (20 Days delivery time.)It has a lot of play in the handle. This is supposed to be a gate latch, or a shed latch, and is self-latching. Heaven help you if you are in the shed when it latches, or outside the gate and would like in. It doesn't come with any handle to allow you back through the gate, or out of the shed! I guess you could tie a piece of string to the latch and leave it on the other side of the gate, or outside the shed, or hope that your neighbors are within ear-shot, but it might be something to consider when purchasing this latch for your use. Personally I'll be returning ours.

This was pretty easy to install, and works really well (easy/smooth to open and close). It has a spot for a lock if you wanted to make it extra secure. The only thing to be aware of if you are using on a gate is that if you open the gate and go in and the gate swings closed, you are locked in - there isn't any mechanism to allow opening it again. This is actually ideal since we have a toddler who has figured out how to open the back door, and this way he's not able to leave the back yard if we ever didn't notice he went outside, but may not be great for everyone.
