Sena 10R Low Profile Motorcycle Bluetooth Headset & Intercom without Handlebar Remote Low profile, yet rich with high-performance features, the Sena 10R lets riders make hands-free phone calls, listen to music, get GPS directions, and have full-duplex intercom conversations with other riders in crystal-clear audio quality through the stereo Bluetooth headset. Ultra slim and feather light, it’s a particularly good choice for riders who want to concentrate on their riding technique and minimize fuss factor. The innovative Bluetooth Handlebar Remote puts the controls where you can easily see and use them with a gloved hand, without interrupting the rhythm and safety of your ride. Keep the chitchat going, share a playlist with up to four riding companions, or patch in a phone call that everyone can jump in on. The Bluetooth 4.1-equipped 10R does it all with crystal-clear sound quality and proprietary noise-reduction technology at ranges of up to 900 meters (0.5 miles). Audio levels get a boost in noisy environments while Advanced Noise Control technology cuts down on background noise for both incoming and outgoing audio. Bluetooth music playback control features play, pause, track forward, and track back functions, and each audio source has its own adjustable volume level. Easy-to-follow voice prompts will get you started using your 10R. And if your pals don’t have Sena Bluetooth intercom gear, Sena’s Universal Intercom firmware makes the 10R compatible with all other Bluetooth communications systems on the market. Best of all, it’s upgradeable for the life of your headset, which makes pairing and interoperability across brands a non-issue for as long as you own the 10R. Linking up your 10R with the Sena Headset App (for Android or iPhone) allows you to configure device settings, set groups of intercom friends, and access an interactive quick start guide. The 10R also offers the ability to pair with up to two mobile phones for convenient hands-free calling.

After having the SMH10R, I upgraded to the 10R. I’m pleased to report that all of the things I liked about the previous model are in tact in the 10R, with upgraded Bluetooth, sound quality, and remote compatibility.I purchased this unit primarily so I could use it with the RC4 remote. I was happy to hear that the sounds quality has improved (better bass). As with anything Bluetooth there are a few quirks and workflows to learn - for most, a few minutes of experimenting with the manual in hand (and off the bike) will result in a good experience. If I had to change one thing it would be to bury some of the intercom settings deeper into the interface…I don’t use the intercom and sometimes the functionality is just too prominent such that it can interfere with other functions, sometimes causing a 5 sec delay when pushing the wrong button. All in all a great, reliable unit with good battery life.

Not sure what the bad reviews are for. I’ve tried multiple competitor products and I can firmly say this is the best. The audio is great, sure a little tinny at times (don’t use audio enhance), but great. Can hear audio at 70+ on the highway. Made a call at 50+ and they said they could hear me great and I could hear them. Will have to test at higher speeds for phone calls but I will say at 50mph I had to turn the volume down because it was too loud.

This Bluetooth headset is great. The wires are a bit thin though. I worry if they will pinch easily. Installation is straightforward but make sure the positions of the control unit and battery are good before using the adhesive stickers. That adhesive is pretty strong. It is almost impossible to move once you stick them on.Battery lasts a long time. I wear earplugs when I ride so I have to turn it all the way up. If I wear my helmet (Bell Qualifier) without earplugs, the wind noise overpowers the speakers over about 50mi/hr.

Bought bc all my friends have them and seemed like it was a cool thing. WRONG. $200 and i cant even hear my music at full volume over 40mph ON A STOCK FZ07. phone calls, not even possible. the intercom disconnects the moment you even think about moving and you have yo scream at eachother. If you turn the volume all the way up the sound quality is so bad it hurts. A WASTE OF $200

I ride a 2018 HD Breakout. The only complaint I have is that Siri cannot recognize my voice in my modular helmet. It will work recognize my voice if the face of my helmet is flipped up and the motorcycle engine is off. So I’m still not totally hands free. It works very well when I’m on phone calls and people hear me clearly. Speakers sound good also

Where do I start with how bad this is? Got the unit in early May '17. It didn't not come with good installation instructions and the ones on the Sena site were also poor. It was a major hassle to install and even then, it didn't fit well in my Shoei AT Air, which is one of the more popular helmets on the market. The speakers were not loud or clear enough to be heard well at highway speeds inside that helmet, which is supposedly a "low noise" model. I had to buy the earbud adaptor and use buds. The three-button control system is complicated and did not differentiate well between "taps" and "presses" which are different commands. Any interruption of the bluetooth signal from my phone caused it to lose the bluetooth connectivity. So if I was listening to music and got a phone call, the system will not come back online after I hung up the call like a regular bluetooth headset would. Then, in late Sept. one channel quit working. Sena customer service was very difficult to deal with and their policies were awful. Instead of sending me a new control unit, they made me rip everything out of the helmet and send it to them, which I did. Then they lost it and wouldn't send me a replacement until they found it. It is now early Dec. and I just got a notification the replacement will soon be on its way. I would avoid Sena and anything they make.

I bought this because of the low profile after seeing a friend's 20R (definitely NOT low profile) with the jog dial. I also read a review that while the 10R buttons were sometime a little hard to find (I agree,) the 20R jog controls were offten TOO sensitive. The best feature of this, and probably all Sena products, is the microphone/transmit sound quality.Speaker quality is fine and volume can be turned up past "too loud"; you can drown out all road noise if that is your goal. I have it installed in a full face helmet and my wife can't tell if I'm sitting still or going down the road at 70mph. The mic really is that good; better than the headset that came with my iPhone 7.Bluetooth connection is easy and it controls Napster just fine. Get used to the button controls and you'll be thrilled you bought this. I am upgrading to a Shoei GT-Air this year and will be purchasing the customized 10R for that helmet, including the handlebar control.
