Bought as a present for a wood working family member who said that it works well, they love it and it’s brilliant. If you want a Japanese style plane at a very reasonable price then this is for you

I've been using western style planes for 55 years, and thought I'd try one of these, just for fun. It took some practice getting it adjusted, but WOW! Now I'm going to have to buy a couple more. Couldn't believe how well it shaves wood. No screws to misplace, and light as a feather in comparison to steel.First time I've reversed a review. It was great at first, but when I took it apart, I found that the blade was hollow ground. That explains why it cut so easily. There's not enough metal left to sharpen it.

It can wrapped really well and in great condition. The blade is sharp and ready to use. Now that I know how nice these are I'm going to order more. They really are nice planes.

Nice plane. I've monitored it for flatness since receiving it from Japan, and it hasn't moved yet, so I'm impressed that I was basically able to use it out of the package.
