I have followed every step. It says you have to update the firmware to use the product but it won't connect to the WLAN and therefore, won't update the firmware. It's crazy. There is literally ZERO tech support for this or any other troubleshooting. I am sending it back.

I purchased this mic and called customer support with Sennheiser to have help with getting it set up on my phone. You have to use their app, which was a little tricky to set up the first time but the guy on the phone was very helpful. You record using their app, and the mic pics up the sound. The sound quality is fantastic and you have capability to raise and lower the volume after you have recorded. However, the video is glitchy and skips frames. It does not take a smooth video, which makes the whole thing useless. I tried running updates and using a different phone. I ended up having to order another mic from another company that does not require me to film through an app. I'm very disappointed because as I mentioned, the sound quality is great. But I need a good video as well as good sound.

I have a Iphone 11 pro, the updated app works very good with my phone, I have no problems syncing audio to my video clips. I'm a drummer, this mic records my drums better than my iphone mic, for the price and what it does, its a great mic. I know everyone complains about the color of the mic and my opinion doing live shows as a drummer, I like the idea of the mic being white in color, the mic is small and can easily get misplaced if it we're a dark color.

I don't even know how to summarize the ways in which Sennheiser's app has failed to work. It's glitches on top of glitches. Everytime I try to something it fails in a new and exciting way. And it's a black box. There's a button, you press it, and you sit around in eager anticipation of punishment. It's a black box, you can't troubleshoot anything because you have no Idea what it's doing.

Quality is fantastic. The app... Not as usable as it needs to be. Sometimes frustrating. It is SIMPLE but in my opinion it should really have the option to copy recording to a computer by USB. It would also improve reliability if it wasn't so app dependent.

The microphone itself does an awesome job. Clean, crisp audio. The rough part is the app and the process you have to go through in order to get the audio synced and downloaded in order to edit or share. The app uses it's own method of capturing video from your phone with basically no video options - so that kind sucks. Sennheiser really needs to revisit their app in order to make this a truly amazing wireless mic system.

I heard about this product when it won the Parent Tested Parent Approved award last month and it immediately piqued my interest. I have three kids - all who are active in school plays, choirs, and even one that plays flute in the marching band. So, like any parent these days, I use my trusty smart phone to capture all of their performances. I'm pretty good at jostling for the best position with the other parents to get the best video quality possible, I ALWAYS am pissed off about the audio quality. Let's face it, even when you're lucky enough to arrive early to the auditorium so you can sit in the 2nd or 3rd row, the audio quality of what is recorded on smartphone is muddy.Not anymore, thanks to the Memory Mic.I have used Memory Mic for 3 school events so far and am very satisfied with the results. My kids voices come thru clear, regardless of whether its a choir recital or the school play. My daughter wore it at halftime last weekend when we filmed the marching band and her solo was recorded with clarity and precision.Setting this baby up was pretty easy - just take it out of the box, charge it via USB with the cable provided, download the Memory Mic application to your smartphone and follow the instructions on the screen. If you have an iPhone like I do, you'll want to put the memory mic to the right of the phone to pair it (I think it must have to do with where the bluetooth antenna is on the iPhone). Once it is set up, you're pretty much good to go.The Memory Mic is designed to be clipped to a shirt. It's kind of big and white (I wish it were black), so we clip it on the inside of my children's shirt pockets.One key thing to remember - You MUST use the Sennheiser Memory Mic application to record the video. Otherwise the audio does not record. The audio starts recording automatically when you start recording video and is stored on the memory mic product until you bring it back within range of the smart phone and "synch" it.Overall very easy to use.Pros:- Crystal Clear Audio Quality - I can FINALLY hear my kids when I record them on smartphone- Easy to use- Automatically synchronizes the audio with the video recorded. (No lip syncing)!Cons:- The app can be a little buggy and you have to use it to record the audio.- The size is a little bit bigger than I'd like but that's probably due to the battery.
