The packaging is 100% sustainable, as described, which is a HUGE bonus fo me and already makes me want this to succeed over my other chosen brand. The pods are very heavy, dense and small. They are well sealed in a compostable plastic-like zip lock bag which is good because they do smell a bit when you open the bag, but that smell dissipates quickly when you re-seal the zip lock and flush the pod. The bag and 12 pods fit easily inside the 100% paper product container. I got the 3-pack and they don't take up much space at all!The pod and contents sink, don't float. I waited a bit to confirm, and the pod outer layer does dissolve in water fairly quickly (and flush just as well if it breaks apart while still in the toilet bowl.I can't give a full review of the result for a while since septic treatments are a longer-term cycle thing and don't change anything instantly. But 1 week after flushing 1 pod, all is still good and I think I'll likely be switching to this brand! My only thing: I cannot find any information on how large of a septic tank this treats, or if it's truly for any size. I have a 1200 US gal septic tank and other pods have said to double up on pods over a certain size. I'm not sure here yet and submitted a question about this a week ago that has not yet been answered by the seller. But with all that, still 5 stars. The sustainable container is a huge factor. I'll try composting the compostable bag in a year and report back!

Let me start by saying that the product packaging is great! 12 pods are enclosed in a thick, zip-top bag which is in a small cardboard cylinder with an easily removable top and clear label; perfect way to store this on a shelf.I'll be real here: additives are like vitamins for your septic system, not a miracle cure. We should be using these while everything is working properly (to prevent the big, expensive problems). This product is a sodium percarbonate based additive (as opposed to bacterial, enzymatic, or lime sulfur ). It basically does the important job of dissolving oils and breaking down sulfides. It is also environmentally responsible, because it ultimately turns into water, oxygen, and soda ash. Because it removes sulfide buildup, it is especially beneficial for the drainfield because it can replenish the soil's aerobic bacteria (and reduce/prevent compaction).Just a few additional observations:⦁ If used as directed, this will definitely NOT harm your septic system's microbial balance and, in fact, might help it. However, because the active ingredient is the same as OxiClean (or other "oxygen bleach"), if you regularly use these in your laundry, you should not use this product. (And to keep everything in balance, you should consider limiting the use of OxiClean to "as needed" rather than with every load, imho.)⦁ After you get the benefits from this product, I would recommend following up with a bacterial|enzymatic product to replenish/promote the real workhorses of the septic system.⦁ While most septic treatments contain a small percentage of sodium chloride (aka table salt); for some reason this product has it listed as the first ingredient, with the sodium percarbonate listed second. There may well be some reason for it, but I think it's an interesting choice (and it's the reason I'm rating it the way I am). I mean, it's still a negligable amount, but generally speaking you don't usually want very much NaCl in your septic system. All that said, I still think this easy to use, budget-friendly septic treatment is probably worth having on the shelf for when you need it and my 3.6 star review rounds up to a 4.

I ordered this as I have a septic tank and not city sewer. I'm very careful about what I put in it to try to make it stretch between pumps. I am not sure how well this works as only time will tell, but it is very easy to use. I have a calendar reminder to remember to use it monthly. I just drop in the toilet and flush. It goes down the first time despite my low water pressure problem. It is well packaged in a sturdy container with a tightly fitting lid. It seems like it has eliminated some foul odors from toilets and I feel like it is priced right. If this buys just an extra month or two in the end from pumping out the septic, it is well worth it based on the cost of sewage removal. If you have a septic tank, you really need to treat it. I am not very experienced in the world of a tank as I'm used to city sewer so this is a learning experience. After I see how easy this is to use, I have no worries that this is not effective and will help my tank last hopefully for my lifetime.

I’ve been using these once-monthly septic tank treatment pods for a few months now, and they’ve made maintaining my septic system so much easier! The pods are super convenient—just drop one in the toilet each month, and it does the rest. There’s no mess, no mixing, and no need for complicated instructions.Since I started using these pods, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in the overall performance of my septic system. The drains seem to flow more smoothly, and I haven't experienced any unpleasant odors or clogs. It’s reassuring to know that my septic system is being maintained and treated regularly without me having to worry about it.I also appreciate that they’re eco-friendly, and the packaging is minimal, so I feel good about the impact on the environment. For anyone looking for a simple, hassle-free way to keep their septic system in top condition, I highly recommend these treatment pods!
