Très bel appareil bien moins cher que certaines grandes marque tout en étant très précis. Dommage pour la molette d'approche dotée d'un système type embrayage à friction. Je préfère le système à cliquets bien plus fin à l'usage...

I'm absolutely loving this micrometer. It comes in a reasonably nice plastic storage box (Photo). There is some room inside to keep some accessories, such as a ball end for measuring round surfaces.I just cut out the necessary insert from the foam.It comes with a pin spanner for re-aligning the analogue scale, if necessary. The micrometer itself is of an all metal construction, with only the digital readout and the battery cover on the rear, being made of plastic. The front readout has 4 buttons. There being a zeroing button, a mm/inch button, and a useful hold button. Useful for making comparison measurements. There is an on/off button, although the micrometer will also switch itself on with any turning of the spindle. It will switch itself off after 30 minutes if there is no change in the spindle setting. There is a knurled locking ring on the top.It works OK. It only takes a quarter turn to lock/unlock, but I think I do prefer the more traditional lever type. The analogue micrometer reading is only in millimetres. The action of the spindle is lovely and smooth. There is a manual clutch mechanism which stops you from over tightening. It works very well, and I prefer it to the ratchet type. What is a micrometer without accuracy?Useless is the answer. This micrometer however, is right on the money. As you can see in the photo, with a grade 2, 10mm gauge block, this micrometer is bang on. Not only the digital readout but also the analogue scale. No adjustments were needed out of the box.The only negatives are very minor. One is that although the packing box states the inclusion of a battery, none was supplied. This is no doubt due to transit regulations. It takes a standard CR2032 battery, so easily obtainable. The other small niggle was that the serial number sticker fell off almost immediately.I re-attached it with a strong glue. I guess it would be needed for any guarantee claim.Overall, I think this is a beautifully made, extremely accurate micrometer. If I was spending circa £400, then yes, I would buy a Mitutoyo, but in the under £200 category, this would be my first choice.I hope you found this review helpful.
