Parents beware- toddlers like to stick their fingers in holes, and wood is NOT forgiving….I was reminded of this while buttering and trying frantically to dislodge my 2 year old’s finger. After I finally got it dislodged, he went to stick his finger right back in another shape!Back a few years ago when my other kids were little we had a similar product but the shapes were made of foam and the pegs were attached with some sort of rubber band that would allow them to move sideways if a child fell on the toy. That toy was much safer, and also more educational, because each shape contained one of every color, so there were multiple ways to sort (by color or shape).Since my kid can’t seem to keep his fingers out of the holes on this toy, I had no choice but to take it away…

This is perfect and our two year old loves it! This style toy has so many different uses - we go over colors and one thru four. Our toddler enjoys stacking (and throwing) them too. I could definitely see us using this for a few years in our toy rotation. This would be a fantastic Christmas gift!
