This may be a Shimano products but the quality is not Shimano. Did this as an upgrade with a new chain, in the small chain ring when standing this cassette skips to no end. I have done numerous cassette installs and this is the first time I have had an issue with a Shimano cassette. The spacing between the gears is not consistent causing the chain to not drop down onto the gear teeth.I would say if you want to get a new cassette go with Ultegra or Dura Ace, this cassette is to far down the product line.

I’ve found out in the past that it’s just not worth skimping on low budget cassettes. It’s tempting due to the low price, but they never shift very well and they’re a boat a anchor. This XT cassette is light and provides very smooth shifts. Well worth the extra price.

the spacers for the lower gears were not symetrical had a little adjusting to do on the bike to make eveything work without any rubbing. Since then no issues - already done 100 miles on the new cassette.

I use this cassette in a 1 X 9 set-up. I have matched it with a 36t Race Face narrow-wide chainring and a 10-sp Shimano XTR chain. (In case you're wondering, yes, the 10-sp chain works with 9-sp drivetrains.) It shifts flawlessly, is very quiet and is uncommonly smooth. In my experience, the high-end SRAM cassettes are a little lighter but less durable than the Shimanos.This XT cassette is built tough. I'm hard on my bike and have serious leg power. I'll take the strength over a couple less grams of weight any day of the week. It's a great cassette. Don't think twice... Buy it.
