The blade was made of T10 high carbon steel, and it has been laminated in a Maru structure with a clay temper line. A special clay is applied to the blade by hand, using a thin covering near the edge and a thicker layer over the rest of the blade. This results in a relatively quicker cooling of the edge during quenching, producing a harder edge and softer back. The beautiful real hamon is also a result of the differential cooling of the blade (quenching and tempering).

Absolutly Beautiful!! Well balanced, a true Sho Kosugi Ninja-to! The proportion, Blade/handle are perfect, except the tsuba that is too small, need to make another one with the real SK dimensions, 3.5''x3.5''x0.25''. The blade is razor sharp!! Be carefull!!! The blade is also perfectly straight!!!! A nice collection item as well as a true fuctionnal sword! Verry light, solid, the handle wrap is verry tight, no freeplay anywhere, well packed, the blade was oiled and in a plastic protector as well as the handle.

Very nice and high quality except for a couple small scratches on the blade and the tip has a darkened spot looks like it's burnt but I took soap and it lightened a bit.

I have been in love with Sho Kosugi’s ninja films since I was 8 years old! I’ve hunted for this sword for years! I have finally gotten a hold of it and my childhood is now complete with this sword! I could not be happier than I am right now!

In fact, the sharpening isn't even throughout the blade. Decent construction overall, but it doesn't stay in it's sheath securely.Also the sheath is about 4 inches too long for the blade.

What a Nice sword. Dose not come with the support. Super Well balance But not sharp at all . Still very happy. Seems To be clay tempered. Not so sure of the kind of steel.

Excellent reproduction of the Ninjato from Revenge of the Ninja starring Sho Kosugi. From what I can tell it looks identical to the movie sword. They use different swords at times, some have the pointed saya like this one and some don't. Sho's sword has menuki, this one does not. Braden's sword also looks a lot like this one as well. I think maybe the ones in the movie are more props than functional ones.This one is very well built. Sharp, but not razor sharp. Very strong feel although a little heavy (Balance point 2 inches from tsuba) due to the large solid square iron tsuba (Just under 3 1/2 inches square). Beautiful short strait blade with a nice hamon (21 inches from tsuba) made of clay tempered 1095 steel, not T10 as in the description (Clarification by Lyuesword). The tsuka is very long at 12 1/4 inches with silk ito and no menuki or any ornamentation.The history of Ninja weapons is shrouded in so much mystery that no one knows what exactly they carried as their primary weapon and that's the way the ancient Shinobi wanted it. So, real ninja sword or not, this one is incredibly strong and exceptionally forged and constructed. If you can afford it and you are a collector, practitioner of Ninjutsu or a fan of ROTN, it is a great buy!**UPDATE** I docked one star because I am very disappointed to find out from Lyuesword that this is not T10 steel as advertised. Still a great sword but I don't care for the false advertising and will not buy another sword from them in the future.
