I'll admit, I was a bit hesitant of this product because this felt like one of those too good to be true things. I'm surprised to be saying this, but this product does seem to actually work.I tested this on both mine, and my brother's shoes. Mine are rotated to be worn every other day or so to let them dry out. His are newer but see daily use. It was hard to gauge if this sanitizer worked on my own, as they have little odor to them, even taken right off my foot. His however were where I noticed the difference.I gave his shoe a big old whiff when he took it off, and was taken aback from the smell. It wasn't vile enough to knock you over, but it was strong enough that once I got my nose in there, I definitely recoiled. I took the fresh off foot stink shoe, and stuck both bulbs of this product inside it for the 30m cycle. Afterwards, I still smelled something, but it was very faint compared to before. Just to be sure, I had him remove his other shoe, and sniffed both. It was then that it was clear that there was absolutely less stink about the shoe the sanitizer was used on.Now, the question is, as I do not have daily access to his shoes, was it the act of drying the shoe that diminished the smell? I did use both bulbs to be more thorough, and to dry it fast. Did the sanitizer kill the odor causing bacteria making it noticeably less? Again, having used both bulbs at once, if this was the case, there was more sanitizing power from having used both. I really can't say for sure anything past yes, the shoe smelled less having been sanitized and dried straight off his foot. There is a caveat to this product. It claims to make ozone. Ozone is toxic. You should use this device in a well ventilated area. Do not use it in a room near birds in particular, or other small animals. I've been using in a room near an open window, with the door shut. I'm trying to keep exposure to a minimum, even if it is only a small amount. Thankfully this device is fairly small and compact so it is easy enough to move around to wherever. It's a tough call for me on the price. It doesn't work miracles, but does seem to actually do as it says. It feels on the high side however to me at this time, but may be worth trying if you catch it on sale. If you have rotated shoes that are not stinky already, this could reduce what little odor there is, and be worth it. If you have blue collar 12 hour shift working man's sweaty boots however, I don't think this would solve the problem. It may not at all depending on how well worn the shoes are, and how far the sweat and bacteria have already soaked into the shoe. I can see me using this every time after I've worn my shoes though, so it works for me.

I used these inside 4 pairs of shoes and a purse to remove a funk smell. Whilw the original odor I intended to remove was gone after using, they left a burnt smell instead. I'm not sure if the new lingering smell is better or worse than the original, but I won't be using this item anymore. I get a sick feeling when smelling the new smell that's left.I am disappointed these left a lingering burnt smell. I was very hopeful they would work to only remove the odor, not leave a new one.

I have been dealing with smelly shoes forever - mine and my son's. You know how it goes, washing them, dumping in baking soda, spraying all sorts of stuff… nothing really solved it. Then I came across this cool gadget that uses ozone, UV light, and heat. Figured it was worth a try since everything else had failed.Turns out, it works really well. It doesn't just mask the smell, my shoes actually smell cleaner afterwards. The combo of UV light, ozone, and heat targets what's causing the odor in the first place. What I like about it:+ Actually eliminates the odor – Not a cover-up. It tackles the source.+ Simple to use – Plug it in, set the timer, done.+ Works with all types of shoes – From running shoes to boots.+ Compact and portable – Easy to store or move between rooms.A few things to be aware of:- You'll notice the ozone smell – Not overwhelming, but it's there. Use it in a ventilated space or block the openings of your shoes like I do with some socks.Good fit for:- Anyone frustrated with persistent shoe odor- People who want to keep their footwear dry and fresh- Those looking for a non-chemical way to sanitize shoesMight not be ideal if:- You're very sensitive to smells - the ozone scent lingers a bit- You have kids, or animals in the same roomTips:- Let your shoes air out a bit after each cycle- If your shoes are delicate, test the heat on a small spot first- It does generate ozone, so you don't want to breathe that in directly. I usually stick it in the shoes, then wedge in some socks around it to help seal things up. It runs for 15 or 30 minutes, so it's pretty convenient.- Also, since it uses UV light, so avoid looking directly at it while it's on - just treat it like you would any other UV sanitizing device.Honestly, I am impressed. If you've been struggling with shoe odor and nothing has worked, this is absolutely worth trying. It's easy, effective, and actually made a noticeable difference.
