The size, shape, and sharpness of the rasp teeth made quick work of prepping my boot sole for a new heel. I make my boots and shoes last a lot longer by rebuilding the soles, especially the heels and where I wear them unevenly. This rasp improves my work by cleaning away some sole so the new ones adhere better.On critique: the handle is thin, so might be quite uncomfortable for large hands; mine are medium-small.

I don't fix shoes, but I like interesting tools. This is an interesting tool. It's basically just a length of very thin bandsaw blade wrapped around a stick, the saw teeth pointing outward. Makes for a heck of a rasp on soft materials!
