This 24V short indicator is a great tool. Previously I used a Li'l Popper resettable fuse, but this is sooo much better. It acts as a self resetting circuit breaker (that what makes it so good), and the light is on when there is a short and goes out when the short is resolved (or power is removed, obviously). While it is in circuit, it acts as a fuse. The magnet test lead is nice too, didn't know they exist before I got this.

I’ve used these short pro tools before. Really useful in finding pesky shorts in the control circuit. Also nice of the manufacturer to include the magnetic jumper. I would have bought it separately. Very helpful to have included that in the kit.

This little device seems a bit expensive for what it is; but it will more than pay for itself the first time you use it. This saves a ton of time and aggravation when chasing shorts in the control circuit. It replaces the blown fuse, and gives constant feedback, allowing the tech to confidently find the source of the problem before removing it and installing a new fuse. It takes up so little space, that you'll forget it's in your bag until you need it.

Works great, the magnetic jumpers are great for thermostats with metal screws but don’t stick to most terminal boards in furnaces. The short tool works as advertised.
