These siding gauges work well. It is a simple design that you adjust the depth and then the clamp holds them in place. They are made of quality materials and should last a long time. Please note that these gauges come in different sizes for different siding thickness AND length.

Great, but it was not clear on the size. I needed it for 12 inch panels. This was for 4 to 8. Better clarity as to the size would have been helpful.

There is nothing quite as frustrating as a lap siding gauge sliding off, leaving 16’ of lap siding flopping around. It’s a loosing battle trying to get it under control from one end or the other. Unfortunately that was my experience using these gauges on pre-finished siding. To be fair the name brand gauges that these closely resemble preformed worse.There are better options available.
