It shouldn’t be pictured with a filter because it doesn’t come with it. I don’t think it should be called a kit because a kit would include the filter.

This filter has leaked from day one. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it three times, added thread sealer to all of the fittings and tightened the filter down to every level of tightness. It has ruined the finish on that corner of the boat.

Great fuel/water separator for my boat. Have been using other inline filters but this one will let the water separate easier. Just wish it came with the hose barn fittings

Sierra always makes good quality products. If you run your boat on ocean waters, I recommend that either you put 2 more coats of paint on the painted version of the housing after the plugs are installed, or you consider purchase of the stainless steel version. I opted to apply 2 more coats of paint since I was repainting other accessories on my boat engine.

I just finished completely rebuilding my boat earlier this year. The part has been installed on my pontoon boat and attached a 22 gallon gas tank with an outboard. My main concern was keeping water out of the fuel. But it is nice that it filters trash out with the too.It appears to work and no leaks and the clear cover is holding up fine. The drain valve is not leaking. I used yellow Teflon tape for gasoline on all the connections. I make sure all the connections are snug and not over tightened. Because of the other reviews I always check to make sure there are no leaks from the unit. The only down side I've seen so far, it takes a little longer to prime the motor which is to be expected.I just bought another project boat, a 1993 fiberglass tritoon with a 205HP motor and I am planning to install another one of these on it. Since the weather on the sound can turn extremely fast, you want to "just" make sure you have everything stacked in your favor.

Great product, now I don't have to worry about vapor locking or burning holes in my piston heads. Very easy to install.

Flooded my gas tank with water when the fill cap was left open (stupid mistake after taking my new boat out for the first time). Well I syphoned out as much as I could, added mythol hydrate, and I was still able to fill the water separator full couple times. It works great and will be staying on to keep any future moisture out of my engine.

I am using this for stock car racing. I already had one on one car, this is for a new one I am building. It's cheaper and lighter than the Fram spin on type, plus you can choose between 10 microns and 26 microns. The replacements are cheap too. It's a well kept secret for what I do!
