Tuning the Ukulele

To avoid damage in transportation, the ukulele hasn't been tuned yet. The clip on tuner in the pack will help you with the tuning.

The Standard C tuning features strings tuned to G, C, E, A (from the left to the right when you putting the ukulele straight and facing the front as the picture showing). You may begin your tuning with the 3rd string. which is the note C, then G-E-A.

For new instrument, it"ll take time for the strings as well as the wood to adapt the pulling force. You may need to tune the ukulele several times until the force is balanced and tune is settled. The period may last for a few days, varied from different temperature and humidity.

An inexpensive true electric ukulele that’s fun to use, but really cheap amplifiers don’t do it justice!

Hard pass. I bought two and both had similar issues. The pickups are not nearly as strong on the outer strings, especially the high A. This is the cause of other reviews saying can’t tell much difference between chords. One of them appeared to but cut correctly with the bridge and saddle and still had the issue.

This is a beautiful instrument! I love the sound and looks. The first thing I did was swap out my G string for a low G string. I’m not sure what the sand paper is for, but I used it to widen the slot for the bigger G string. I’m glad I bought it!

Mostly works well, but the "A" string doesn't seem to play amplified at all. That's annoying because my online music instruction program often doesn't pick it up unless I pluck it *very* hard. I'm guessing I got a lemon, but who knows. (I've tried on two separate amps, so it's the guitar, not my amp.)The uke also seems to blow through batteries really quickly, to the point where I just bought a huge box of Amazon basics 9v because I needed a new one nearly every time I practiced. I suggest removing the battery completely when storing the uke or not playing it; that's annoying, because the 9v is locked in to that little snap tab. There should be an on/off switch that completely disconnects the battery power when not in use.Overall, it's probably a better idea to spend the extra money for a nicer uke: this one's not actually "silent," even when not amplified -- and as I wrote above, the amplification is problematic.

I got this ukulele as a gift. This ukulele stopped working after a few uses. I tested my amp and it works fine with other things. I've switched out the cord from the amp with two brand new cords but the ukulele will not amplify. The ukulele worked for a minute with new cord but then stopped working again. I also replaced the 9V battery on the back too, that did not help either. So I contacted the customer service email that came with the ukulele and no response. I sent a FaceBook message to the place on the card that came with the use, no response. Called Amazon for contact info of the company and Amazon sent me info in email and again no response. They claim 6 month warranty, but it is complete garbage, because I've attempted to get a hold of them to help me trouble shoot this ukulele. So there is basically there is no warranty. You only have one month to return after you order. I missed that window so Amazon was not helpful. Over all the ukulele looks nice but it is completely worthless and you would be better off flushing $150 down the toilet. Do yourself a favor and order from a reputable company that actually is in the music business. DO NOT BUY. Update: On a whim, I decided to change out the 9v battery again, and it started working. But seriously there is no customer service. Buyer beware.

It just arrived, and I haven't had much time to paly it, but in a few minutes I've decided it's pretty good. I thought it might be a real piece of junk, but I was pleasantly surprised. The build quality is good. It's tiny, but cute, and plays well. No seriously sharp fret ends. The preamp works. The amplified sound is not bad. And being a Prime member, I got it for $111. If I played in a band, I would play this on stage, other than the fact that it looks stupidly small on me.Edit 8-8-24: After a year, I still like it. I wish this company would come out with a baritone uke sized mini 6-string guitar in the same form factor, maybe about the size of an Enya Go Mini, which I also have. If they did, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

This Uke is great to play. Through an amp it sounds beautiful, and you can even get good crunchy sounds if you use the dirty setting on your amp. I don’t have any foot pedals or stomp boxes, but I imagine you can make it sound however you want. It is amazing that the invisible pick-up can get it to sound so good. The Uke is easy to play, and both the volume and tone controls work fine. The Uke arrived with a piece of sandpaper. I used the sandpaper to ease the edges of the frets and the fret board, which were pretty coarse upon opening the box containing the Uke. And like others have said, the Uke was not packed very well. A box inside a much larger box, with only a piece of brown paper to help keep the smaller box from rattling around the larger box during shipping. It is great that it comes with a strap, but the included tuner only worked on the C and E strings, and unreliably so. I threw it away.I noted that the G string was buzzing when played open, and the C and E strings buzzed when fretting the first two frets. After watching many YouTube videos and applying their techniques, I determined that I had two problems:1. The G string was buzzing in the nut (the white plastic component that holds the string above the fretboard near the tuning pegs). The fix was fairly straightforward - I needed to file back the slot in the nut so that the string was suspended by the edge of the nut nearest the tail of the Uke. Luckily, I had a veneer saw with a very narrow plate that fit in the slot. First I marked the string slot with a narrow mechanical pencil so I could see what I was sawing away. Then, I angled the saw back and slowly gnawed away the portion of the nut in the slot that was suspending the string too early. No more buzz, and I didn’t change the height of the slot.2. I used a small but reliable straight-edge and determined that the third fret sat a bit too high. I made a sanding tool using a 1/4” thick straight piece of plywood and 400-grit sandpaper. I glued a small piece of sandpaper to the edge of the plywood, then glued two additional pieces of sandpaper to either side of the first piece of sandpaper, but I glued them on with the coarse side against the plywood. This gave me a 1/4” wide sanding tool to gently sand down the fret while the other pieces of sandpaper (being the same thickness as the middle piece of sandpaper) served to keep tool level with the 2nd and 4th frets. Before I began sanding, I marked the entire 3rd fret with a Sharpie so I could monitor my progress. Buzzing eliminated.I was able to perform both of the remedies without removing the strings. I just loosened them and pulled them aside.Once I got rid of the buzz, I love playing this Uke. Could I just have returned it to get one that didn’t buzz? Sure, but who knows if it would have been any better…Lastly, I used a white non-woven pad (available at hardware stores and woodworking supply houses) to soften the edges of the wood, which were slightly sharp. The non-woven pad softens the corners while removing a minimal amount of clear finish.Photo of the sanding tool above.I recommend this electric Uke, but be prepared to set it up yourself a bit.
