About this item

  • Silver Brass Euphonium
  • B-Flat

The euphonium is a conical-bore, tenor-voiced brass instrument. It derives its name from the Greek word euphonic, meaning "well-sounding" or "sweet-voiced" . It is a piston valve musical instrument with the existence of rotary valves. It belongs to the brass band family . It is pitched in concert B, meaning that when no valves are in use the instrument will produce partials of the B harmonic series. It has 3 valves, where in 2 top valves are called action valves and 3rd valve is called compensating valve .It has an extensive range, comfortably from E2 to about D5 for intermediate players. It extends from B0 to as high as B 5. The lowest notes obtainable depend on the valve set-up of the instrument. The euphonium's tubing gradually increases in diameter throughout its length, resulting in a softer, gentler tone. It is made up of pure brass and Indian brass instruments are in great demand . It is fully tested and approved by our technicians ,hence the instrument is a very well new piece and well conditions . Tone : Bb pitch

First off, you get what you pay for. That having been said, this euphonium is worth the price, but don't expect a HIGH quality horn. It's functional and good for a beginner to start off on until you see if they're going to stick with it. If they do, look into buying a brand name horn later on down the line.My main instrument is trombone, but I play euphonium on the side in theater pit orchestras and the occasional solo at church on with a community band. This horn does the job but there's nothing fancy about it. The finish is rough in places, mouthpieces don't seat all the way properly and the valves are very loud. I spent the better part of the day trying get adjust the tunining slides to get the horn to play in tune with itself and to find the right mouthpiece. If you buy this euphonium, look into getting a real case or gigbag for it as the flimsy vinyl sack it comes with offers zero protection and the horn is hard to fit into the bag.For a really cheap horn from India, I give this one five stars.Compared to any other name brand it's earns 2 stars.
