I purchased these countdown timers eight years ago in 2016 for using with battery chargers for my power tools and also my garage workshop music player. They work great for that purpose. I don't have to try and remember to unplug the chargers. I set the timer to 1, 2, or 4 hours according to whim and the type of battery. I check whether the battery charge is complete the next day or whenever I next notice the battery still hooked up. If the charge is incomplete, I just put more time on the timer and charge some more. The two timers I purchased are quality-made and have not given me any trouble.

I recently purchased (3) 5,000 Btu/hr Window AC units for my summer cabin; got them at a great price at Sam's Club. My kids use the cabin and sometimes to forget to shut off the water heater (electric), lights, etc. when they leave. So, I bought these timers/Auto-off to help ensure that even if they forget to shut one or more off when they leave, I'm not stuck with a whopping electric bill cooling the place when no one is there.Pros: So far, so good. They work well (at least at the 8-hr setting) and shut down on cue. They're a snap to plug into an existing 3-prong outlet and easy to cycle through the hours on settings. They didn't get hot when the AC units were running full tilt, so no problems there.Cons: What I really wanted was an auto-off timer that couldn't be bypassed with a hold. These do have a hold function meaning that if you're not careful in cycling the button to one of the hour settings but cycle it to the HOLD position, they'll stay on. So now I have to instruct my kids (and, hopefully they'll remember) not to cycle the timers to the HOLD positions. But for the life of me, I cannot find an auto-off timer that doesn't have a bypass. For that issue, I took off 1 star. The other thing is that I have only had these for a short time, so longevity hasn't been evaluated. I didn't take another star off for that, but if they crap out for next summer usage, I'll do a Jen Psake and "circle back" to this review. All in all, the price was right and they seem to work as advertised.

I love these little timers. I have an essential oil diffuser and a wax warmer that I love to use for bedtime, but don't want them to run all night long (just long enough for me to enjoy the scents as I am drifting off to sleep). These things work wonderfully for that! They shut off when they are supposed to and are super easy to use. Like other reviewers mentioned, I think it would have been better if the "hold" (aka "always on") button was last in the sequence instead of first, but if you know it's that way then you just press twice (or more) to get to the desired timer setting. So it's not really a big deal for me - just something for the manufacture to consider for future versions of this product. The price was great and shipping was super fast - I recommend them!

I see that most people find it annoying that "Hold" is the first option, but I'm one of the weirdos that actually wants a timer that works this way. Having the "hold" option first is useful if you want to set the timer without turning off the power. The key here is "without turning off the power." If the hold option is last, you have to cycle through "off" before you can get back to "1 hour" which will cause some devices to reset. I mostly use this with my 3D printer because sometimes I want it to turn off after a few hours, but I don't always know how long it needs to run when I turn it on. Could be 1 hour, or 27 hours. This timer allows me to run it in "hold" mode and then if something is still printing when I need to leave the house or go to bed I can set the timer without losing power.I also have a version of this timer that does not have the "hold" feature at all, and I like both timers for different reasons. If you only want a timer that prevents you from forgetting to turn things off I'd recommend one that doesn't have a "hold" option at all.

Want to avoid overcharging a phone, mp3 player or toy motorcycle battery? Set it and forget it, this device will cut off power to the charger at the designated length of time. We use one for a box fan that blows into the shower after use so that the tiles dry and prevent mildew. Anything you wish had a timer function can have it. You could use it for holiday decorations though an automatic on-off timer would be a better option. This timer is manual-on and auto-off. We have had one for 2 or 3 years that we use at least daily and it still works without issue. We recently bought the 2-pack for other uses.Made in China.

Seems there is some controversy regarding overcharging lithium batteries, so why take the chance. Expensive smart watchs are often tossed aside when the battery become weaker and finally stop taking a charge. Having experienced this first hand, I was specifically looking for A product like this that can be used to power the 120v charger in increments of 1 hour. Just plug this charge timer into the wall outlet, then plug your charger into the timer, set charge time by pushing the button “x” times and you are set. Inexpensive insurance to help your rechargeable batteries from meeting an early demise. Works great.

I have four of these which I use for timed charging of devices like: cell phone, iPad, Kindle, power drills, cordless yard tools, etc.The point is that you do not want to keep any of these on a charger all the time as that will shorten your battery's lifetime. The only problem I have had in years of use is that one LED on one unit failed and no longer lights.Someone reported that these run hot in some applications. Well, I am sure that is true if you run something that draws 15 amps through it, but that is not really what they are best used for and the heating is to be expected with high current loads. In battery charge applications, these are GREAT!Gonna' order two more today!
