This is in my short stack of reference books (meaning it is always near at hand). It was recommended by a fellow quilter and I really love it.

I learned so much with this. I'm a beginner and not ready to tackle any of the gorgeous patterns but I learned enough to keep going and I'm sure that one day I will be able to. Looking forward to doing so.

I purchased the Kindle version, and my initial reaction was that I should have bought the hardcover, since it was obvious that patterns and templates were not included. However, I have since discovered Jeanne Sullivan's reply to a review which commented on that issue. She stated that the publisher would provide a download of the CD, so nothing will be missing once you receive that. I've emailed C & T Publishing, so we'll see how well they respond. Having said that, I'd like to say that the book is wonderfully written with great photographs so it's easy to understand. Following her methods, you should be able to produce amazing applique work.

All the basics for applique and more. Beautiful photo's, very clear explanations, step by step. You don't need another book about applique if you buy this one. And extra special flowers, sort of 3 dimensionality .

I've bought many many applique books. Only a few make it as a keeper. This book is definitely a keeper! It's loaded with techniques and tips with lots of great photos. I love the traditional blocks and the numerous inspirations to make them really special. I'll be putting them to use shortly as I start my next quilt!

I do a lot of quilting and have been wanting to try my hand at applique. This book has a video that goes with it. It has been helpful in planning my next project. I will be able to organize projects to take with me to work on when I go places. I love to travel and have things to keep my hands busy as I tend to get into trouble if I don't. I also read my Kindle.Claudene Carson

This book is certainly the most useful book I have of all for applique'. A MUST for everyone to add to their library of quilt books. One more book, this one, will "make" your library of applique' books complete. The helpful hints are many! When I clicked to "Look Inside" the book on Amazon I couldn't stop taking notes and falling in love with the methods. That's when I KNEW I had to have this book. There isn't another book like Simply Successful Applique' that I've found. Thank you Jeanne Sullivan. What a wealth of knowledge packed into these pages. I plan to give it as gifts to fellow applique' friends.

Beautiful projects! I haven't appliqued anything from the book yet, but there are several things I want to try for projects. I read the reviews for the Simply Successful Applique book and wanted to buy it in the Kindle version to save money, but wasn't sure if I should since the book version says it comes with a Bonus CD. Looked around online, but couldn't find information about the book that let me know if the Bonus CD material came with the Kindle version. I decided to buy the Kindle Version to use on home computer and/or Android tablet. I was very happy to see in the contents that there is a section called CD Contents. There is also a section called Projects that has clickable links that go online to view project patterns and the patterns can be printed. The patterns can also be downloaded and read with Adobe reader and printed. I'm very happy with the Kindle version so far since the photos look great and the CD material is included with access to the patterns online.

I'm preparing for an applique class next month and couldn't be happier with Jeanne Sullivan's book. The information on tools, preparation and organization is wonderful. Excellent information on stabilizing your fabric squaring your background block, preparing your pattern and overlay and all of her photo's are extremely helpful. This book was a great refresher course for me as I haven't had time to do much applique in the last few year's plus I learned some helpful new techniques. I don't think you could go wrong with adding this book to your library. I've purchased two other books in the last month on applique and this one has to be the best of the bunch. I'm glad I was able to check it out at a quilt shop in Santa Fe before buying it. The price at the shop was $29.95 but I just knew I had to check out the price on Amazon and I wasn't disappointed $10 less at good old Amazon. LOL and I love shopping with my points!!

As a beginning applique quilter I have been reading many quilting and applique books and tutorials. I must say that I learned more in the first 15 pages of this book then I have in the last few months. The writing is concise and easy to follow. The book is filled with extremely detailed directions and the author gives many options to plan and sew her beautiful applique pieces. The section on how to pick colors was particularly helpful as this is something I have trouble with and I think many new appliquers probably do as well. You get a two for one deal with this book because both hand and machine applique are carefully described and pictured. I am so excited about using the patterns that come on the CD. I think it will be very easy to be successful with all the tools the author gives in this book. I pre-ordered the book based on an early review and I am so glad that I did as I know this will be my "go to" book as I hone my applique skills. I agree with the other reviewer that the designs on the CD alone are worth the price of this book!
