First, these are made in America, which is shocking, because the quality is awful. I never thought it'd be possible to leave a negative review for a nail, but these are not working for me at all. There's a weak spot in each nail right where the first rings start. The nail bends there with almost every one of these. I'm not doing anything wrong. There is just something wrong with the nails. Maybe they had a bad day at the factory. I'm not sure. I tried everything. I barely tapped them trying to get them into the wood, and they bend at that same spot. I tapped the holes, and they still bent. I used a bigger drill bit to tap holes, but at that point, the nail isn't really doing much. After all this I decided to see if I could bend the nail with my fingers, and I could. I'm not that strong of a guy, but I can bend these right at that weak spot where the first rings start. I went to the local hardware store and bought some different nails. Problem solved.

These nails are awesome for siding. Beautifully designed and they really hold tight. Worth every penny!

My boxes of these nails were well formed, with nice thin flat heads and good "barbs" that weren't smooth. Much much better than the grip rite nails I got at the orange store.Used these to hang cedar clapboards on my '30s cape that had some water infiltration and related rotten sheathing. Original clapboards were pretty well shot, and the nails disintegrated. Hung about 25 16' clapboards and also repaired my mahogany deck. Nails have great grab, just don't expect to pull them back out cleanly from a delicate clapboard! These are bordering towards one-way screws in their hold, which is great for siding...when you don't screw up!Like all stainless they're not quite as strong as normal steel, but I only bent a handful in all my projects. 7d size was perfect for my uses, but I think 6d would have been fine too. Highly recommended.
