I ordered these to play on peripole contra bass xylophone bars in my elementary music classroom. I had ordered some official peripole brand contra mallets from the manufacturer, but I needed something quickly and the name-brand was not going to make it from the manufacturer soon enough for my concert. These American Drum mallets sound great and arrived quickly. Guess what? The name-brand mallets arrived a few weeks later, but Iām still using these American Drum mallets because I think they sound better! They sound about as good as my old set of suzuki contra mallets, but look to be more durable. (I loved the suzukis, but their wood shafts snapped. Not durable enough for a public school classroom.) These are my new favorites for use with contra bass xylophone bars.
