Typical application:

  • Inverter Ac/dc motor control
  • Various rectifier power sources Battery charging
  • wire cutting
  • frequency
  • welding machine
  • electromagnetic heating

Notice:

  • The nominal current of a power semiconductor device is tested in a specific heat dissipation condition, and it is not a long working current.
  • Therefore, the user should leave enough residual amount according to working conditions and working environment when selecting type.
  • Leave 6 times the margin.
  • The actual working current should be less than 5A when it is not equipped with the radiator, and the actual working current is greater than 5A.
  • When the actual working current is greater than 40A, the appropriate radiator and fan should be installed to assist the heat dissipation.

I did not expect to receive the heat sink along with the bridge, but here it is. Installed with a heat conducting grease, thanks for that. I tested the bridge at 150 VAC input and around 2 ADC output. The bridge did not get even warm while the load resistor became hot. That's all I could do for testing. 2 amps is nothing for a bridge with a 150 A rating. But what are the real specs for this nice looking bridge. According to the product description the load should have 6 times margin to the rated 150 A. Looking for similar sized bridges from reputable manufacturers I would estimate this bridge real rating should be around 60 A. Most likely with a proper cooling it can take much more. But should we guess about that or should the manufacturer provide proper data comparable to the reputable products? Until then you are at your own risk.

The included heatsink made installing this quite easy. I first tested it 2/3 its rated current, pushing over 100 amps through it onto a 50mV/100A shunt. There was minimal heating, quite nominal, and the forward voltage drop is typical for silicon diodes. The picture shows mVDC on the shunt, VAC driving the rectifier, and current drawn from the variac.
