Please note that this is just a load cell mounted in a fixture (this is normal by the way). You will need other parts in order to use the load cell.At the minimum you will need a suitable Load Cell Amplifier (a type of op amp), a way to use/view that amplifiers output, and one or more calibrated weights. A common load cell amplifier choice, that is available all over amazon, is the HX711. You can use the HX711 along with a microcontroller to view the load cells output value. There are many tutorial online on how to do this. Another option is a standalone load cell controller with a display.In either instance, you will need to have at least one, and preferably more than one, weight of known value in order to calibrate your set up. Exercise weights are not precise enough for this. Their weights often vary from the labeled value. A decent option, is a liter or gallon of water. The best choice is a calibrated weight.As for this load cell, everything looked good out of the box and seems well made. While I cannot verify the ability of the unit to safely support 5,000 kg (≈11,000 lbs.), I can verify that the load cell itself works just fine. Change the weight on the unit, and the output of the load cell changes. Just like it is supposed to do.
