I bought a stainless steel sink, and developed a few scratches probably when I was cleaning a pan. I bought these so I don't have that problem. You can pick them up when not in use, or leave in place. You might want to pick them up if you're putting food down your garbage disposal. They look good enough to leave in place. I bought a "saddle" to protect the sides as well from scratches. It's a sturdy soft rubber that protects any object from scratching the surface.

This is a great mat at a great price! It is a perfect fit and food hasn't gotten caught under the mat. I would definitely buy this mat again.

I love this sink mat. It has ridges on the bottom so little pieces of food wash under and down the drain and not get caught under the mat. they fit really well and are made very nice.

I actually can't stand this item but I haven't found something to replace it yet so it remains at the bottom of my sink getting my dirty looks whenever I'm near it. It's flimsy, food is constantly stuck under it and if the water hits it just right it sprays a complete mess all over the counter, floor etc.
