This worked exactly as expected to upgrade my first generation X1 Carbon before passing it along to a family member. In comparison, I had tried a similar adapter from another Amazon vendor and the Transcend 430S SATA SSD that I used was not recognized by the laptop at all.

I had a big problem to read the Hard Drive chip salvaged from my Lenovo laptop. This adapter is the only one working to retrieve your data.

I had a Lenovo X1 with a bad motherboard, I was able to pull out the drive and use this device to access the data. Works great!

After spilling juice on my 1st generation Thinkpad X1 Carbon, I needed something that I could use to pull files off the hard drive. Because the SSDs that Lenovo was using at the time do not fit standard SSD adapters, I really had to dig around to find this. But once I got it, I was quickly able to plug it in and locate my files just as I hoped. It did take a while to ship from China.

Takes an X1 Carbon (1st Gen) SSD and converts it to an M.2 standard drive slot. Worked really well.

works as it should, bought it to test some Sandisk M.2 Sata drives that came from Lenovo X1 carbon laptops and it worked perfectly, bit of a strange shape though, not exactly 2.5" so if you were looking to convert to a 2.5" drive then you would need to do further modifications...

Works great. Would really be great if there was a light case to go around it.
