In a way you get 2 products: the cable adapter that can be used to connect any SATA drive to PC via USB ( there is some power limit), and the board adapter (also has some power limit). Works for me with the SSDs that I have.

Pros: Works as designed. No driver needed. Average write speed 200MB/s. Plug directly into USB port, no need to carry the cable as other adapters. Small size. (only support 42mm M.2)Cons: Provides the cover only on the circuitry side. The M.2 SSD is exposed. I'm not going to put the thing in my pocket, unless I want the static to zap a $200 SSD. Also when handle it, be careful do not put your finger on the exposed SSD. Without the cover for the SSD, I have to keep it in an anti-static bag to carry around, and take it out when needed. Don't loose the bag!I plan to have this adapter with a 256GB SSD to replace my Magnum 128GB USB3, but the inconvenient causes by the lack of the cover (on the SSD side), I may have to keep this adapter in the drawer for now. It's kind a shame for a almost-perfect device.

I have a clean install of Windows 10 with all the updates. It did recognize it under disk manager but it couldn't initialize it.
