My husband works with Model Train rebuilds and custom painting for his train layout. This tool is perfect for filing/sanding out the imperfections in the kits her builds. This is a good tool for any person who works with miniature models

I figured I'd try this out to get a nice glossy shine on my gundams. It does an alright job, but it can leave a little bit of scratching (see photo). Though you would have to really look at it to see the scratches, they are there. For comparison, I used a nail board from the beauty section of the store. That on the other hand came out much cleaner.Where this file shines is really nub removal. It's glass, so it'll probably last longer than you, your kids, or your grandkids. If you are looking for nub removal, I'd recommend a smaller version of the file for those fiddly, tight bits (which you'll have if you're building any plastic model). If you're looking to buff your model, I'd recommend the $3 tool from your local big box or beauty supply store.

This polishing file has completely transformed how I refine my Gundam model kits. The ultra-fine grit delivers a flawlessly smooth finish without scratching delicate surfaces, making it perfect for resin and glass detailing. Its compact size gives me incredible control for tight spaces, and the sandpaper-free design means no messy replacements. Whether I'm smoothing seams or adding a glossy sheen, this tool saves me time and frustration while elevating the quality of my projects. An absolute game-changer for hobbyists who demand perfection!

First and foremost, this file is made of glass. One needs to handle it with care as one would with any glass items.I used it to polish a 3D printed object and it worked very well with 3D printer filament. I'm going to use it to polish an old MP3 player that has shallow scrateches on plastic surface. I expect it to work very well for that application. If you have a need to polish something with precision, this file is highly recommended.5 stars.

I've never used a glass file before, and I couldn't pass this one up. I'm quite fond of DSPIAE tools, and have yet to find one that isn't high quality. This file is easy to use, yet gives a mirror polish on plastic. Mind you, don't use a back and forth motion with this type file. Just single forward strokes is best and gives the best result. So far, I'm incredibly impressed with this file! It isn't perfect for everything, but on certain seams and such, this gives the best result I've ever gotten! When done, it immediately goes back into it's protective case, as I am a major klutz and don't want to drop it! Easy five stars.

This is a very fine file for wearing down things like plastic burrs and glue seams on models. It works very well, and it’s easy to clean (just use a toothbrush or bristle paint brush if it gets clogged.) I wish the handle had been wrapped, or at least bevelled, it’s a bit sharp in the hand, but otherwise the file works really well. Kinder on the environment than sandpaper as well. This brand as a whole makes really good products from what I’ve seen so far, so I’d recommend them!

I really have no other points of review other than opening the small box up on arrival and then pulling out the plastic case that the file comes in. I open up the plastic case and the file is just completely shattered into thousands of tiny shards. When opening the case, some of those shards fell out of the plastic case and so I was trying to vigorously vacuum that area to make sure there isn't a shard somewhere for me or my kids to step on. I'm hoping I got all of it. I'll leave a picture of what I received.

First time having an ultra-fine file so grain of salt needs to be taken in terms of my judgement. It came in a nice little case, very snug fit with a nice finger-cutout in the foam, the cutting face is nice and consistent and works wonders on a piece of HDPE I had around, seems to be easy to clean and maintain as well just a nylon brush to clear the teeth of any buildup.
