Works like a charm, use it while I am out on the road, work as an OTR truck driver. Had to buy an external antenna for this device was not hard to install. Once I plugged the antenna to it hardly have any drop outs (tunnels and such) Very easy to use, puts out high quality sound. Device is high quality and will last for many more years to come.

19 sep 2024!Just shy of 14 years since first reviewing. I added the picture with this review. Still works great. Just a little darkening of the pixels. Still very legible.have pondered getting Sirius for years. I will stick to the receiver for the review (starting and customer service is another story). The receiver is very easy to setup and use. I bought this at the same time as the boombox(being reviewed after this). It was very easy to dock. I only had this for about a month so reliabilty? the only thing I hope for is that it will last for quite awhile(I signed up for the lifetime membership-which means if the receiver breaks i can transfer up to 2 or 3 times) Like I said, I am new to the service. The car set up was easy. The dock in the car is really stiff, which is good, if removing you just have to make sure to use two hands pulling it off the dock. Overall I am completely satisfied with it.Helped someone with this review so I decided it needed an update. Title updated to "still". I have had this for a little over 2 years now and still going strong. My boombox handle broke a couple months ago while carrying it down the basement. Tumbled the last4-5 steps! Radio and boombox still worked!!! Receiver had no damage, but had to push the speaker screens back in place and fabricate a new replacement handle for the boombox. The only thing wearing out on the radio is a tiny spot on the number 5 preset button (must be my favorite) which the only way I noticed was while driving at night the light shines through. Not bad enough for me, anyway if it was? an easy fix.

I purchased this to replace an Audiovox PNP2 radio purchased in 2004...after wasting tons of time and effort trying to make it continue to work properly. I had purchased three home docks and one auto dock for the PNP2 so I was not thrilled when it started to fail. I could not get consistient reception with the PNP2 even after placing the antennae in various places outside my home. I even bought an antenna extender so I could place the antenna on the roof, free from obstruction...no dice. I listen to Sirius all day long so reception problems were driving me nuts!I ordered the Stratus 6 (with car kit) and a home kit from Amazon because they had the lowest pricing and free shipping. I only ordered one home kit to be sure everything worked properly. After spending a short time connecting everything to a receiver on the first floor I was ready to take the antenna outside for a test when, to my surprise, I heard music! The new antenna was pulling a signal from inside the house! I was completely floored and soon realized that the technology has been enhanced quite a bit since the days of the PNP2. I now keep the unit on top of an organ next to the receiver and keep the antenna curled up, pointing at a wall, and I get all three reception bars! Moving to another stereo in another part of the house is so simple that I don't even need to purchase additional docks. I wish I hadn't waited so long. The car kit is just as great...I plugged the supplied 3.5mm to 3.5mm connector to my AUX IN, ran the antenna through to the trunk, and found a convenient spot on the dash for the dock. WAY better reception than the crappy PNP2 car dock!I was able ot transfer my lifetime subscription to the new unit in about five minutes ($75 fee for that but worth it to call all the way to India for assistance ;-)The blue display is so easy to read and the 10 pre-sets are adequate to get me around the dial quickly. Sound is stellar! I highly recommend this unit!

First of all, I have to give five stars to Amazon service. The radio itself was not so bad, and installation was simple enough. Activation was not that bad either.*EDIT* review on Radio itself. just like the first reviewer said, installation was very simple but I did not like how it sit on air vent - I did not want to make any whole in the car before I was absolutely satisfied with SIRIUS service, and I did not know if my father would like it. the ease of use was not so intuitive so I give 3 stars. *EDIT*I bought this for my father who can't speak English well and drives a lot. I found out last year(2009) that you could listen Korean broadcast 24, 7. so I purchased for my father's Christmas present. I install this for my father on 01/15/2010 and went in to internet to activate the account. I went with a la carte, so I had to choose 50 stations, INCLUDING Korean station, which was 91, I believe. when activation went through, I went out to listen to the station, it was playing some football stuff, in English. So I called SIRIUS tech support, the guy was nice and after putting me on hold for about 5 minutes, he came back and apologized because that station was pulled out of SIRIUS contract as of 01/01/2010. So I decided to cancel the whole service, and the tech guy transferred me over to cancellation department. Now, this lady accused me of lying when I explained the whole thing! She claimed that there was never channel 91!!I understand that you are working in different department, but I think before you accuse your customer as a lair, I think you have to check if the customer is actually telling the truth.I know someone may think that giving one star based on just this experience is not appropriate, but if it was you that was accused of being liar, I think you would understand.
