This unique case features a plush black lining over a molded EPS foam interior to cradle the guitar and provide neck support with a convenient accessory compartment. The exterior is constructed of a nearly indestructible molded ABS polymer that has been engineered to provide the ultimate protection during transport with TSA recognized and accepted SKB trigger release latching system which allows the user to lock the case and still have it inspected by airline security personnel. Additional features include a nearly indestructible injection molded rubber over-molded cushioned carrying handle with injection molded feet and a bumper protected valance. Solid case. I bought it for my EVH Shark guitar, it fit perfectly. This case will safely hold an explorer guitar.

The case was delivered really quickly and arrived well packed. The case itself is excellent and really sturdy. I’ve used SKB cases for years, even toured with them and they’ve never let me down. Would highly recommend.

The guitar case was of great quality. Unfortunately the case didn't fit my guitar. Wish it did because I really liked the case. Try the case with your guitar and hope it fits. The case is worth the try.

I have more than a few guitars, and pretty much all of them have different cases for one reason or another. All are OK. They all work pretty much the same. But the SKB I just bought for my new Schecter E-1 impressed me. The case is very sturdy, and the latches are really top notch. It cost a bit more than competitors, but, as they say, you get what you pay for. I'm happy knowing my investment will be well protected and is warm and snug when sleeping.

Le carton d'emballage était très abimé. D'où pas mal de traces de rayures sur le produit ... de surcroît il ne ferme pas de manière totalement hermétique au niveau de la poignée. Ce produit mériterait d'être déclassé en B-stock et de faire l'objet d'un remboursement partiel !!

Der Haltegriff ist am ersten Tag schon abgebrochen, da er aus Plastik ist und auch mit einer Plastikmechanik am Koffer befestigt ist. Ich frage mich, wie man bei so einem schweren und teuren Koffer auf die Idee kommt, den Griff samt Halterung aus billigem Plastik herzustellen. Ich hatte noch Glück, dass der Abstand des Koffers zum Boden nicht zu hoch war, da der Koffer natürlich direkt auf den Boden knallt, nachdem der Griff abbricht und die Plastikreste sich am Boden verteilen. Das anschließende Tragen des Koffers mit beiden Händen auf Brusthöhe durch die gesamte Stadt ist auch nicht sehr angenehm. ABSOLUT NICHT EMPFEHLENSWERT und sehr gefährlich bei hochwertigen Gitarren!!

I purchased a 2nd hand Firebird sometime ago but went on to sell it. I instantly regretted it and recently purchased another. I also purchased this case as the original Firebird I had came with one and I was impressed with its design and durability. Not only do I find the shape more pleasing than the traditional rectangular hard cases, but the balance is also nice when carrying. The traditional (Gibson) rectangular ones also tend to wear at the corners more. Both my Firebird and Explorer fit nicely in the case and I can't detect movement when I'm carrying. They're still big cases mind (like the rectangular ones) and don't fit across the width of my car boot like other guitar types will.Prices on Amazon fluctuate and I purchased my current case from for £108 (no discount for reviewing here!). Item came well packaged.

This case does not take into account the angled neck pocket of an actual Gibson Explorer. The body is lifted up at an angle and the front point of the body is about 1 inch from the bottom of the case. The lid must be forced shut which puts a lot of pressure on the front point and torques the neck. This will warp the wood over time. Unfortunately Gibson does not offer cases with the new 2016 Explorers, nor do they offer them for sale. Rather than return it, I pulled up the plush lining and carved out the styrofoam underneath and glued it back down, which was a lot of work, but there aren't a lot of options for Explorer shaped cases. A shame about the fit, but otherwise it is very well made. I really like SKB cases, and my shaped strat case is excellent. This one was poorly designed.

I flew this case back in November and it held up pretty well. The fit isn't the most snug but i just stuffed some old news paper in and around to cushion the headstock and the bottom of the body where the strap button was. The guitar arrived just fine but the case was dinged up, and the lip doesn't fit together quite as well anymore near the head stock latch.I'd rather have a beat up case than a beat up $1000+ limited run guitar. So the case did its job i just wish it was a bit more sturdy i guess.

I bought this case for a Washburn A-20. I wasn't sure if it would fit, but I needed a case and thought I'd try it. Now that I have it, I realize this case is perfect for odd shaped guitars...Explorers, Firebirds, and especially A-20s. I have several similar cases (these are the same style, just different shape, the Fender American Standard series guitars come with) and they are strong, well-made protectors for your instruments. I highly recommend!
