Product Description

Long Last Bearings for Extended Life

SKF Hub Cap
Decreasing maintenance & operating cost

SKF tapered roller bearings are proven to increase uptime.

The logarithmic profile of the rollers provides superior load distribution. The design of the flange/roller-end contact area reduces edge loading and promotes the formation of a lubricant film even under arduous operating conditions. The optimized finish of all contact surfaces maximizes the effectiveness of the lubricant. These features significantly decrease noise, temperature and vibration levels, and virtually eliminate temperature peaks.

SKF Tappered Roller Bearing

Built to Last

Sealed SKF Roller Bearings

New small sealed SKF Explorer spherical roller bearings with improved performance are pre-lubricated with a specially formulated grease and sealed with highly effective contact seals. The seals retain lubricant in the bearing while resisting the ingress of contaminants that might otherwise cause premature bearing failure.

Thanks to their optimized materials and design, these bearings can deliver robust, reliable performance for the life of an elevator’s drive system.

This one was a little more expensive than others, but this thing is factory OEM. It installed easily and you can tell it was better quality than other cheapy brands being sold. You can obviously get ones around $20 here, but you'll probably be hunting down random vibrations here and there, and finally replacing with a more expensive one down the road after you learn the lesson so many others have. If you buy quality you'll be buying once and know that it will last and not fail you while on a road trip somewhere out in the middle of nowhere or while you're out on the trail somewhere. The OEM one lasted me till 300K. Hoping this one will too!!

Not a bad job but I don't think a DIY person can do this in their driveway. You will need to press out the center u-joint, yoke and support bearing. You will need a bottle of blue lock-tite for both flange bolts, and center yoke retaining nut. Torque specs: Yoke nut, first pass (torque to seat) 134 ft lbs, second pass: loosen then retorque to 51 ft lbs. Center support bearing bolts (2): 27 ft lbs. Front and rear (4) flange bolts/nuts, torque to 65 ft lbs.
