SKS is a quality manufacturer in the bicycle industry, we have been keeping bikes rolling for over 100 years.
Our history began in 1921 when Karl Scheffer-Klute of Sundern, Germany began manufacturing curtain rods. His company was purchased in 1932 by Wilhelm Blome, who also purchased a tire inflator company, which inspired him to begin manufacturing metal pumps.
SKS is now known as a pump and bicycle fender manufacturer, along with accessories for your bike, including bike pumps, fenders, bags, tools, digital pressure gauges, bottle cages, cage adapters, and even phone holders.
SKS items are still designed and manufactured in Sundern, Germany. We will continue to innovate and manufacture the highest quality cycling accessories for years to come.
The Future is Orange
SKS Germany employs 400 people at our bicycle HQ in Sundern, and over 700 employees across our three combined divisions.
43% of our bicycle business is through aftermarket product sales while 32% is OEM product.
Annually, SKS Germany produces:
- 4.5 million full fenders
- 2 million clip-on fenders
- 1.2 million bicycle pumps
This totals over 18,000 fenders per day and 3,200 pumps per day!
Revamping the classics
In 2022 the SKS full fender line was renewed. The classic Chromoplastic Longboard and Commuter II full fenders were replaced with the new Bluemels and Bluemels Style fenders.
Both models are made using the same chromoplastic fender material. But, the Bluemels now come with black hardware and are available in more sizes than before.
The Bluemels Style fenders feature a square profile design, double U Stay technology, a matte black finish, and come with a sleek, flexible spoiler on the front and rear fender.
SKS Germany continues to be a leader in clip-on fender options as well.

Achetés pour mettre sur un vélo 20 pousses décathlon, s’adapte très bien!Pas besoin pour l’instant des renforts métalliques, cela dépendra de la tenue dans le temps et de l’utilisation.C’est bien en tous les cas de savoir que cela est possible de renforcer le système.

I recently took delivery with a new Bike Friday New World Tourist and paid extra for fenders since I bike tour a lot all over the world and fenders for me is a must. The fenders which came with the bike (not assembled) were the SKS Velo 55 fenders front and rear. Having had several touring bikes which I installed SKS fenders on the bikes, I loved the SKS fenders I have on my other touring bikes.But......the fenders for this bike came with just two plastic fenders and a bag of bolts/screws, nuts and instructions that were dififcult to ascertain how they went on the bike. The bolt for the front fender was entirely two short when nut was tightened and the length of the fender was so short in the rear of the wheel that I knew for sure my feet would not even begin to stay dry from spray coming from the tire where no fender prevented it. I went to a hardware store, bought longer bolts and saw immediatly when afixing the bolt/ nut that the fender is just too short to do any good. And the rear was even worse, the tighter I tightened the nut on the bolt attached to the seat bridge, the more the fender came up higher and creating very little coverage of spray from the back. If the fenders hadn't come the bike, I would have returned them. So am no looking at other manufacturers for 20" Bike Friday bikes. Really disappointed that SKS doesn't have all the attachments necessary for a good fit of the fenders...that is an extra accessory kit.

The rear fender doesn't go down far enough over the rear of the tire and as such still sprays water... easy to install and after purchasing a bike rack with an extended fender tip, I now stay dry. The fenders do not cone with hardware and hardware for the front and rear is sold separately as well.

Still giving it 5 stars because it's a good product, but you have to pay attention to the tire size. I put these on 20 x 1.95 knobby mountain bike tires and they are barely covered. And because of the tire height from these tires, the fenders have to be installed higher up and are rubbing against the v brake rubber boots. Still so works though.

These are kind of short for my preference, but I couldn’t find any other fenders for a 24” rim. They would probably work without the “u stays” but might not last for long and would need readjustment when they start rubbing. I just got both these and the mounting kit and am satisfied. It does the job, quality parts and not too expensive.

These are one of the few fenders that fits a 24" wheel, like on a kids bike. I almost passed on these, because I couldn't figure out how they would go on the bike with no stays. After I went to the SKS website, I realized that there are stays designed to work with these fenders, but for some reason they are sold separately. This might be fine if the listing made that clear, but it does not. For these fenders to install correctly, you also need to purchase the "SKS Velo 55 U-Stay, 24-Inch" also available here on Amazon. With all the right parts, installation was a snap. The fender radius does seem like it's designed for a slightly bigger wheel, but with a little persuasion I was able to pull it into place and tighten everything down so it fits nicely over the 24" tire.

Installation takes 10 minutes, and best done with a wrench/pliers and snap on 7mm ratchet. True, it comes without metal support for the back fender, however the l brackets are the beefiest I have seen, so I anticipate no problems, even without the support.
