Over 100 Years of Quality
SKS is a quality manufacturer in the bicycle industry, we have been keeping bikes rolling for over 100 years.
Our history began in 1921 when Karl Scheffer-Klute of Sundern, Germany began manufacturing curtain rods. His company was purchased in 1932 by Wilhelm Blome, who also purchased a tire inflator company, which inspired him to begin manufacturing metal pumps.
SKS is now known as a pump and bicycle fender manufacturer, along with accessories for your bike, including bike pumps, fenders, bags, tools, digital pressure gauges, bottle cages, cage adapters, and even phone holders.
SKS items are still designed and manufactured in Sundern, Germany. We will continue to innovate and manufacture the highest quality cycling accessories for years to come.
The Future is Orange
SKS Germany employs 400 people at our bicycle HQ in Sundern, and over 700 employees across our three combined divisions.
43% of our bicycle business is through aftermarket product sales while 32% is OEM product.
Annually, SKS Germany produces:
- 4.5 million full fenders
- 2 million clip-on fenders
- 1.2 million bicycle pumps
This totals over 18,000 fenders per day and 3,200 pumps per day!
Revamping the classics
In 2022 the SKS full fender line was renewed. The classic Chromoplastic Longboard and Commuter II full fenders were replaced with the new Bluemels and Bluemels Style fenders.
Both models are made using the same chromoplastic fender material. But, the Bluemels now come with black hardware and are available in more sizes than before.
The Bluemels Style fenders feature a square profile design, double U Stay technology, a matte black finish, and come with a sleek, flexible spoiler on the front and rear fender.
SKS Germany continues to be a leader in clip-on fender options as well.

I recently bought a new Bike Friday New World Tourist with SKS Velo 55 fenders. The fenders had limited mounting hardware, so I ordered the SKS U Stay fender mounts for front and rear fenders. The mounting of the stay when trying to fit it onto the rear fender, obstructed the TRP disc brake adjustment on the brake caliper. I called SKS, sent them pics as requested, and they said they could see the problem. Amazon is giving me refund.

Konstruktion gar nicht so einfach zu montieren und zu guter letzt mussten wir noch andere Schrauben auftreiben zur Montage , aber nun hält es das Schutzblech gut - sitzt jedoch etwas schief

Macht einen soliden Eindruck, mehrere Schrauben machen alles einstellbar und sollten das solide zusammen halten. Die Streben sind sehr knapp kalkuliert. Könnten ruhig 5mm länger sein, damit man ein bisschen Spiel hat. Könnte doch jeder mit einer metallsäge ganz leicht anpassen. Verlängern ist halt schwieriger.Scheibenbremsen belegen zwar nicht die Bohrlöcher für die Streben, aber sind im Weg für die normale Montage.

This took some time to figure out - the SKS Velo 55 Fender requires these stays to work correctly. No issues installing - they fit fine and there were two stays in the package. I'm just puzzled as to why they are sold separately when clearly neither the fender or the stays work alone.

The description and photo depicting a “set” for both front and rear fenders is misleading. There is only one stay for one wheel. If you need both front and rear, you need to purchase two.The product itself, however, is working (so far) as expected.

I bought it for a 24" bike and the rear piece barely reaches the plastic holder. Its so close to the rear wheel that there is a chance of being rubbed on the wheel. Its working, but it would have been better to have the rear one slightly longer.Update 2014-12-14The plastic holder which holds the metal U in its place, broke. Had to tie it with a piece of rubber.
