I had one of these about 20 yrs old in college. Everyone I showed loved it. Unfortunately I let a college buddy hold it and I never got it back. I recently purchased again and still feel the same burn after a few reps.

Ok so here is the good and the bad about this product. First, the good:1) it is a very sturdy piece of equipment2) it does indeed train the calvesAnd the bad:1) you can train your calves pretty much the same way by doing calf raises2) the marketing claims of 5-10 inches on your vertical jump from just training calves is ridiculous. The calves don't contribute much to your vertical jump compared to the glutes, quadriceps and hamstrings. They do contribute, but just not very much, and certainly not enough to put 5-10 inches onto your vertical jump.In summary, yes it trains the calves, but seriously, $100, save your money and just do calf raises instead. And if you want to improve your vertical jump follow a training program that actually incorporates some actual jumping and strengthening of the full groups of muscles involved.

Before I bought the , I talked with its producer by phone. He told me that I would not be disappointed. He was absolutely right. The calf isolator is an ingenious product, thoughtfully and solidly made. It fact, it's design is brilliant. I could not be more pleased with this purchase. I can't wait to see what happens to my ballroom dancing as I develop stronger feet and lower-leg muscles plus improved balance. To help me with the same goal related to improving my strength for ballroom dancing, I bought the too. Please note that before I bought the I was hesitant to buy it because it looked complicated to use and messy to store. After setting it up and using it, it no longer seems to be the least bit complicated to use and it turned out to be easy to store because of the attractive black high-quality open-mesh (probably nylon) storage bag that it comes with. The bag opening has a loop and push-lock mechanism to keep it securely closed. You just roll the product up, put the thick and wide black rubber band it came with around it, pop it in the bag, and pull it shut with the locking loop. Makes a fairly small and tidy package. Easy to store. My fits comfortably on a shelf in my workout area on top of a pair of 12-pound dumbbells.

I used this product more as a calf stretcher than anything else. Unfortunately, calves are only a small percentage of vertical jumping power compared to your thighs and glutes.

- Very heavy duty build .... quality solid construction! Springs are top-notch ... but even if they loosen up over time, you can use the heavy-duty strap ratchet mechanism to tighten it up again.- Perfect for a workout in your office/cubicle. I get one hell of a calf workout burn with these while working in my cubicle! Have to keep the small fan running to keep sweating down to a minimum.- The best part is you can get one hell-of-a stretch as well by using the strap's ratchet mechanism. These will definitely help those with heel spurs / Plantar fasciitis as well!- For an even tougher workout, try using ballet style releve feet positions to intensify your workout!
