I love the look of this slat board. I ordered this with the hopes of hanging it on my pantry wall. We have a very narrow pantry with cabinets on one side, but they are older cabinets and not quite the height and depth that we need for storage. We have several cast iron pans that are typicaly stored in the oven, but they are heavy and cumbersome to move everytime we want to bake something. I hung this slat wall on the wall opposite the cabinets in my pantry and purchased hooks and baskets to fit it. Now all of the cast iron pans, two cast iron trivets and 4 baskets (for snacks) are hanging on the wall and look great and it is so much more functional for us!It was easy to hang, we just located the studs in the wall and used a drill to run the screws through the narrow slat area into the stud. It came with more than enough screws to securely hold the slat wall to your regular wall, and since we are in the studs, we know it can handle the weight of the cast iron.My only concern is that the corners were pretty beat up when we unpacked it. It did have corner protectors on it, so that makes me believe that it was damaged before it was packaged for shipping. I intend to get some molding to create a frame around it, and that will hide the damaged corners, so I am not terribly concerned. This set of two is comparably priced to the big box stores. Since we live in a rural area, having it delivered to our home made things much easier.

These slat wall panels work great. The slots are well-formed and fit standard hardware, with about 3 inches between slots. The white (melamine?) laminate is just a thin layer, but it seems durable enough. The MDF is fairly dense, though. The panels cut easily using a track saw with a fine toothed blade, and electrical outlets can be cut out with a jig saw, too. Surprisingly, there was little chipping, even with the jig saw, and the outlet cover hides it all. In use, the slat wall system makes it so easy to swap things around and get it just right, so everything has a place. And, I really like being able to easily reconfigure everything without leaving behind a bunch of dented drywall that's full of holes. Plus, it makes the room seem bigger and never looks messy.
