I ordered a safe like this in the past and one of my gripes was that the spring wasn't strong enough to push the slide all the way out while a fully loaded Glock was in it. This safe has a stronger spring and works great! It mounts to the night stand, and the fingerprint scanner is very responsive. Overall, this safe is a no brainer at this price point.

I have a 6 rifle/5 handgun safe by the same manufacturer that I really like as well. It also has the bio-metric fingerprint option , keypad and separate key. It is well made, heavy steel and can hard mount to wall or floor or both. The safe feels heavy and extremely sturdy. You can easily mount it to the wall (mounting bracket and nails included). It requires 4 AAA batteries (not included in the pack).Once setup, it works flawlessly. Fingerprint reader works instantly, no need to do multiple swipes. Keys are provided as backup if you run out of batteries.You can place your firearm as well as a spare magazine as well which is good.Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the purchase. Would definitely recommend it.

I'm impressed by this type of quick-access safe. I have other more traditional safes but wanted something where I could access a firearm bedside if needed. Overall, the safe appears robust, the access is fairly quick, and setup was quick. Here are some pros/cons:Pros:- Heavy, thick metal framing.- Large, accessible buttons.- Enough space for anything from a compact to full-sized framed pistol as well as one spare magazine.- Drawer slides open quickly upon entering the code- Fingerprint reader is adequate, although not the quickest.- Silent mode is a nice addition, and how I always keep it.- Mounting opens on either sideCons:- The keys light and beep slowly, but you can actually input your code as fast as you like. This throws you off a bit though.- The fingerprint reader is a bit hit and miss. It uses three presses per finger stored to memory, which is decent but not fool-proof. I'd probably default to the code in a high stress situation. However, the fingerprint reader does work adequately and programming it is very easy.- The tolerance between the drawer and frame is a bit wide. This allows easy pry-ability. But considering this is mostly for a quick-access, bedside type safe, I'm not too concerned about that. This keeps curious fingers away from the firearm, safely.Overall, very pleased. It utilizes 4 AAA batteries, so we will see how battery life is, but replacing the batteries is easy.I'd recommend this as a good option for a quick-access single gun safe.

The Slider Hidden Handgun Safe is well made and heavy. The pin code and fingerprints were easy to input (make sure you use brand new batteries). It is suggested to register the same fingers multiple times so that with different angles of the finger the biometric scanner will accept it. It comes with 2 keys. The side mounting bracket will attach to either side. It will hold a full sized pistol but there is not really room for a mounted sight. There is also a slot for a magazine. It opens quickly. The sound can be turned off. There is an interior light which is a nice feature.

Safe was extremely easy to mount and feels secure. The multiple entry options is nice as well - fingerprint, key pad and key.Opens quickly and securely and allows for easy access which is obviously super important when it comes to getting to your concealed firearm in a pinch. The slot for an extra magazine is a nice subtle addition as well. Gives me confidence that my firearm is properly stored but also easy to get to if the situation presents itself.Only two real critiques that are worth noting. The first is a potential deal breaker which is the safe is not setup to properly store a pistol with a red dot. Tried test fitting one, and would not recommend.Second is more minor and is that the battery compartment (required to use the fingerprint or key pad) is at the back of the unit and in my mounting configuration will require unmounting of the unit from the wall plate to replace.
