This works great! Our toddler had no problem opening the normal lock or our backdoor and going outside whenever he wanted. This has completely put a stop to that. We feel so much more secure with this on our door! Very easy to install as well!

The lock/latch is made pretty well. It opens and closes easily from the controls side and holds a door fairly well from opening completely. How well overall it works depends on how thoroughly you clean the class before you mount it and the design of your door. Relying on an adhesive pad as the lock is iffy at best when depending on how far from the edge back the glass is, you have more than enough gap to insert a pry bar of some sort that will just pop it right off the window. Great as a little extra piece of mind, but wouldn't rely on it for actual security.

This is a major saver for us! Our grandson is verbally autistic so you have to be on high alert all the time!!When he come over he figured out (quickly) how to unlock the sliding glass door. This solves that at a great price!! It was extremely easy to install and is extremely functional! I really like that you have to push buttons on the top and bottom to disengage it. First of all he can't reach it (yet), but I think it will take him a bit to figure that part out.So my only gripe is that it says the gap between the one glass and the frame of the other door needs to be 0.46". If you look at the tape measure it sure seems like we are just over 0.5" but we still clank every time we open it. I also had to mount it fourteenish inches from the top of the frame to even get it to open. So I question the minimum thickness requirement. I think it is more than 0.46" minimum. (This is the ONLY reason I knocked a star off.)I did mention the clanking noise each time we open it. This window lock seems durable and I am not too worried about the clank. Over all it is well worth it. I am glad we got it to work and I am looking forward to it working for many years until our grandson is older and figures it out. MAYBE by then he will not be as mischievous LOL...
