Worked well right out of the box. Took about five minutes to configure and connect to WiFi. Needed to do a firmware update to watch on the tv, which was completed within a couple of hours of installation. I will update the review if anything changes, but it is working as advertised and seamlessly integrated into my Sling channel lineup.

This is my second one. Works great for a couple months. Then one of the tunes quits. Sling simply does. It honor its warranty… no one to talk to. I bought the add-on service plan and they got me a refund. Can’t recommend this product

I gave this one star. The one star is because the configuration can be difficult. The Slingtv app is terrible for this device and the instructions that came with the device are for an old version of the app. It would be nice if the link to the help reflected the current version of the app. Once I found the correct area in the app to configure, it was easy to configure the WiFi. Adding a hard drive was a different story. I plugged in my drive and it did not recognize the drive. I tried 4 different drives. After several attempts the AirTV appears to be stuck in a loop, where the lights would flash and stop and the power light would blink, then rinse and repeat. I removed the device from the app and did a hard reset and started over. The AirTV now wants to do a firmware update. I allowed the update and at some point the format drive message came up. I started the format but there is no indicator of progress so I left the format screen up. At some point it showed the hard drive. I wanted to figure out how to changed drives and as of now, it still does not show any drive attached. I have done a hard reset again and still no luck. It would be nice to have a progress bar show the status of the format. I am using the drives they suggest. If I try to record it states there is no drive connected but if I unplug the drive it recognizes the drive has been unplugged. Either it take a super long time for format or the software is buggy.Update: I am returning. The initial setup (WiFi) was good and worked well. The drive setup is a totally different story. I would give the drive setup a 1/5 of a star. I do not understand how I plug the drive in and it does not recognized a drive is plugged in, but when I disconnect the drive it tells me the drive has been disconnected. If you are lucky to get the format screen to show up, you are left wondering if you should close the screen after click on the format drive or do I leave it up. There is no progress bar so I have no idea if it

Product works well and does what it’s supposed to locals come in great with my over the air antenna for sling. Not too sure why you would need to split signal but it is convenient in others cases I’m sure. I did have to spend a couple hours figuring out how to set up only to find the unit needed to be factory reset. If you can overlook getting a probably used product for less than what sling or eBay would charge it’s a great deal.

I think you must be one of the lucky ones to get this thing working in 15 mins. The actual setup of the channels was not terrible but forget splitting the signal at least for an indoor antenna. Lost too much signal that way and disconnected the splitter and went direct to the air tv 2. Much better signal. That was the easy part. The hard part was getting it to recognize a hard drive. Tried 5 different ones and went back to the original about an hour and a half later and it finally recognized it. Ugh. Would not pay more than the used $50 price for this thing. Seller was good and sent it out fast but be prepared to be frustrated with this thing. What should take 15 mins. Took 2 hours and it was just a bunch of rebooting it and trying different hard drives and all of a sudden it works. Now when it loses power I wonder if it will all work again. Not expecting it. In the short term I have had it on I did get some blips in the stream. Will have to see how that goes after hours of using it. Using it over the Ethernet connection. Really only bought it as I’m going ti subscribe to sling in a few weeks and wanted all my channels in the same guide and have it so I didn’t have to change inputs to get my locals.Update: An hour later and the hard drive connection is already broke, don’t expect much from the local DVR function of this unit, its unfortunate but I see why it’s disappeared for sale now, it will get the local channels added into your guide so you dont have to change inputs but that’s about all it’s good for. Unless you want to stream on the go, it also gets your local channels to your phone if you want that. I believe I give up on the DVR. I tried once again plugging the Hard drive many times and gave up. This was a known issue a year ago and still isn’t fixed so don’t bet on it ever being fixed.Final Update: I believe I have changed my mind and think I sm going to stay with YouTube TV. It’s been good in the year I have had it, it’s snappy and customizable and you do get a good 50 channels more for the price and unlimited DVR. I think sling should be $40 for the blue and orange package. The difference in amount of channels just seems to cater to this.
