Cute but smaller than expected, but it works out nicely for shrimp bowl aquascape.

I’m perfectly happy with what I received. It is exactly what I envisioned and I have no complaints. When purchasing I noticed reviews talking about a bad odor coming from the tree. I chose not to boil but instead let it soak for a couple of weeks to release tannins and soak water. Just before installing I put it in hot water that was straight from the tap and let it soak as I set the rest of the tank up.

The one we received was like an inch and a half less long and an inch less tall. It was not the measurements it was supposed to be. Also peices we’re breaking off when I took it out of the box.

Did not like the tree when I saw it in person. Was not happy. Looks like a bunch of random pieces of wood put together. Not very pleasing to the eye

When I decided to get a fish tank, I knew I wanted a bonsai tree in it. I love Japanese decor. I have a male koi betta fish. He seems to enjoy swimming around and under the branches of this driftwood bonsai. Water logging this drift took a long time. I didn’t want to use my pot to boil it so I put it in my bathroom sink and poured boiling water into the sink with the drain stopper a few times and allowed it to sit for about half an hour. In addition, I covered the drift wood with water in the empty fish tank for a week before adding anything else. I kept it down with long fish tank tweezers. After the full two weeks and maybe a little longer it finally would stay down and not tip forward. I purchased a Java moss tissue culture from a local shop and I tied little bunches of it onto the branches using string. The Java moss has spread since then. I have noticed some grey stuff growing on the drift wood which I guess is probably normal with new tanks and more a reflection of the water parameters. I hope it clears soon. Good product but you have to be patient with getting it water logged. I was happy that it looked like a bonsai tree and the design was accurate to the picture online. Yes, it was costly but it’s a small business and there aren’t many alternatives.

The order was processed, shipped and delivered quickly. The item looks great. It is lighter than expected and it requires anchoring into my tank. I added stone to the bottom and anchored into my substrate. I had to thin out the moss and get it into place securely but after 3 weeks it has taken hold and is growing nicely. The small branches help a lot but they are delicate so be careful when adding plants and handling. Do not add too much moss in the beginning or it can get algae or not grow as quickly. My shrimp love spending time on this tree and I am 100% satisfied with the item. I added some hairgrass and monte carlo around the base to make it look more natural. It is one of the main focus points of the tank along with the dragon stones. The color of this item and the dragon stone match very well and provide a nice color palette with the plants and substrate. It is an expensive item but these are not molded by a machine so I understand. If the price was lower I would have several of these in all my tanks. Highly recommend if you want a nice bonsai style tree in your aquascape and money is not a factor.

Bought this to put into my 10gal for my betta. It's the perfect size for the aquascape I imagined. I covered the branches in weeping moss to make it safer for my betta and it looks amazing! I followed the instructions that it came with before hand and decided to boil it for 25 minutes (turning and monitoring carefully) vs soaking it for 2-3 weeks. It definitely sped up the processs and I had no problems with excess tannins in my water which would have been fine either way since bettas prefer it. I am so pleased, great quality and better than expected.
