THESE ARE VERY SMALL PADLOCKS . LIKE REALLY SMALL. THEY FUNCTION WELL. OPERATING THEM IS SMOOTH AND DIALS TURN EASILLY. I USE THEM ON A COUPLE SMALL LOCK BOXES ON MY TRUCK. THEY SHOULD LAST A LONG TIME . BETTER AS A DETERENT TO LET ANYONE KNOW THAT REALLY NOTHING OIF VALUE IN THERE. JUST SOME PERSONAL ITEMS I DONT WANT TO LOSE IS ALL . HOPING THE THIEF MIGHT JUST IGNORE IT AND MOVE ON . DEPENDING ON THE NEED . THERE A GOOD BUY FOR THE MONEY AND RECOMEND THEM

(Update) - Dropping to 2 stars. Do not buy if you expect this to be an actual lock. It actually just broke apart in my hands when I was taking it off my side gate. It might be good for keeping your 3 year old daughter out of a cabinet, but any adult can break it simply by twisting it. Simply set your expectations for something made of cast metal.(Original Review)Last week the combination lock on the side gate of our home gave up. We needed a new one. It appeared from the advertisement that this UP lock would fit the bill. We ordered it.- Simple in design, and positive Open/Closed feel to it.- It will not open more than about 3/8 an inch. Keep that in mind, as the strike plate does not rotate.- Setting your own combination is a simple as following the instructions.- Not TSA compliant. Note that this does not have TSA designation on it, so if you put this on your luggage then the TSA (Transportation Security Administration; also known as airport security in America) will have no choice but to cut it off of your suitcase/bag due to regulations if they wish to inspect the contents of your bag. You need to know this.

I really like these locks, they come in a pack of two, with a lower more compact profile. With it's small size, they are less likely have a chance of getting snagged during the whole mysterious luggage travel process (comparison pic added to show this lock compared to your average luggage lock). The problem with these locks are that they are NOT TSA compliant (-1 star), so in the rare chance that TSA needed an excuse to open them, they would have cut them. Where these locks really do shine are for use on carryon luggage, backpacks and purses.
