Found this to be extremely comfortable for me and my 4.25lb dog. I chose this carrier over all others as it looked like it would do a much better job of distributing her weight evenly across my body and not be too high on my chest. It met that criteria and was well made. It is not adjustable though so for some it might be a concern but being that the size is based on the human chest circumference I think it will be a good fit for most. My dog loves to nest in it and there has been times when I took it off and placed it on the floor and she crawled into it for her nap.

So I have purchased a few of these. And I have to say that this by far is the best to use if you have a small dog that loves the comfor and security of your arms and being close. Phoebe feels so secure she leans into me and will go to sleep. And it's secure enough the I can bend over with her in it. She is 5.5 lbs and I'm larger. I fit it well and we love it. Easily get her in and out.

I got this for my 9lb 16 year old schnauzer for walks and to keep her with me during the day. She was in her last days on this earth and I wanted to keep her close and comfortable She was hesitant at first but she enjoyed it once she got used to it.The design is very thoughtful, and helps keep your pup close by. I wanted her in a front carrier in a position that kept her close to my body, because I knew she would enjoy that position the best. This did just that. I got a large based on my measurements, and I think that a medium would be more appropriate. because of the stretchy nature of the fabric I would recommend if you are on the edge of sizes to size down. I ended up twisting it a couple of times to size it down, which worked alright.I had bought it for walks, so that if she got tired I could carry her, but she refused to get tired during her walks! ultimately though, it facilitated my pup being more comfortable in her last days. she was unsteady, so it helped her feel nice and supported especially in the car, while running errands, or while snuggling while playing some board games at home.

This is a WELL-MADE sling! Seriously high quality. And comfy to wear? YES! Highly recommend it, as I have tried SO many slings & carriers. From Outward Hound to Lazy Paws & Wacky Pets. Our Chihuahua did not like any of them & was constantly shifting to get comfy. He always wanted out & wanted me to hold & carry him without a sling...which is hard on the arms after a long hike, or being about the house. I looked at the Heart Pup carrier, but the price is a send-away. Over 200 bucks. Nope! There seems to be a quality issue with them & they take ages to arrive, based on the reviews. So that is a pass. This Kangapooch is the best one out there & works SO well for an incredibly decent price. Our Chi puppy stayed in it for an entire afternoon & did not want out. (That has not happened with any other sling I have tried yet.) It is a stretchy fabric (on the front) they "pooch" in & sleep away. The straps are a solid jean material & comfy beyond comfy. The dog sits higher (which he likes) & its the easiest-wear of a carrier/sling you'll find. The should is also padded & does not dig into your arm. It fits like a shirt (as it needs to be close to your chest) & stays comfy for hours of wear. (And it does not matter for girl or guy...as your chest does not get in the way. Both hubby & I tried it.) HIGHLY recommend it. It is sized for your shirt size, not pet size...& accurate to fit. The pouch can hold a pet up to 12 pounds on all the sizes (S to XL) & our almost 7 pound Chi is comfy & cozy in it. BEST sling out there! Try it, as you won't be disappointed.

This small dog sling is like NOTHING else on the market! A lot of thought went into its design. The Kangapooch is perfect for all the pet parents out there who find themselves carrying their little ones all the time and want a little "hands-free-helper." Almost all other slings out there make you carry your dog down on your hip which is not where you normally carry him. You hold your small dog up near your chest, which is where this pet carrier/sling places your pet. The sling itself is well-made and is super comfy for both pet and parent! My little one never wants to come out of it! It is very secure as well and I find I am able to do things around the house while my dog hangs out with me. The other benefit of this product is that it works perfectly for those of us who have senior pets with health issues. I can honestly say that due to this fabulous product, I have been able to spend a lot more quality time with her because she can hang out right near my heart... which is where she belongs!

Update, 9/30/2016 - Well, we have two of these now. I have no reservation in stating that we believe they are the best small animal carrier. Our two very small dogs love them, and they have held up very well to pretty heavy use. I wash them, in the washing machine, on gentle cycle, and using lingerie bags (what can I say, a bit of a laundry geek), and hang them to dry. They still look as they did when new. Big thumbs up!This is a really well designed sling/carrier. It is very easy to put on/take off, like putting on or taking off a tee shirt. The straps lay smoothly, and the one that goes over your shoulder is lightly padded. This fits smoothly enough that it works under a parka or jacket.The pouch itself is made out of an organic black cotton jersey material. This has the right amount of stretch to support our very small dog, she really likes it, and seems to feel secure in it. She fell asleep in it very quickly. It is comfortable to wear, and gender neutral.I like the position of the pouch, it rides fairly high on the torso, and i find it comfortable to perform various tasks while carrying my dog in this. There are two buttons at the top of the pouch, one on each side of the opening. I may sew in a small snap-swivel on a strap for additional security.I will follow up on this review after using this for a while.
