Typically, bucklers are small hand Shields that are held by a fist-grip and are light and fast. Hema practitioners studying I.33 sword and buckler will find this small shield perfect for paired drills and practicing grappling techniques. The light weight keeps fatigue at Bay during long training days. The dome is large enough to accommodate most light/medium duty sparring gloves. For those wishing to build their own Medieval shield the domed shape and size of the buckler also lend it to use as a boss for many different shield styles. Overall: 6.5 inch weight: 10oz.

This is a fantastic piece for the price, it's sturdy and compact; smaller than most bucklers, and definitely thinner than GDFB ones. it will dent up a bit with extreme abuse but mine is still kicking after 3 years. The buckler has a rather decorated handle, with some fleuring around where nice brass rivets connect it to the boss. The handle has two wooden scales and more thick brass rivets holding it all together. It comes unstained and unfinished so you can apply whatever colors or wood finishes you please. The rim is lined with a nice brass rim, which brings the piece together and seriously outshines the bare basic metal-pipe-handled and bland rolled steel alternatives on the market at or around the same price range.

The buckler is quick and light. But the smaa handle makes it difficult to hold.
