Bought the WIFI version. Load the SmartLife app to your iPhone. It detected it automatically and started the configuration. Opened the power panel and connected to the main lines coming in from the power meter. Added a 220v breaker in the panel to power the unit. If not comfortable with messing with the power panel, seek help. Don't risk killing yourself as there are a lot of hot points in a power panel and incorrectly installing something can cause serious problems. Basically to the unit you will have 2 wires from each of the 2 clamps and 3 wires for voltage (2 hots and 1 neutral). In total 5 wires to the very small device. Wish they would use screw terminals instead of the push terminals. The push terminals appear to only take small wires. They hold snug but when dealing with 220v, prefer something more secure. Took all of 15 minutes to install. Hardest part was determining direction of the clamps on the wire and which wire off the lug corresponded to the clamps connected to the main lugs as you want L1 and L2 to each be correct for both voltage and amperage as that is how the device determines kW usage. Setting up in HA was very easy using the Tuya integration. My only issue was getting the device to be recognized in the Energy monitoring tab. Was able to add the unit to the main dashboard but never able to get it to show in the energy consumption graphs. Will continue to research and provide feedback if able to fix.

I don't like giving negative reviews, but I have little choice in this case.Pairing this with the app on my phone took me a day. The app insisted instead on trying to pair with my laptop. I had to disable Bluetooth on my computer. Then it paired, but my next frustration was 'No device detected'. There was no way around this other than selecting a device manually. I picked what I thought was the right one. So, will update my reading soon!

As much as I love Tuya based devices when my network has issues none of them will function since they need constant internet connection to the Tuya application servers so I have been slowly porting them over to LocalTuya in HA and using Z2M where I can. This energy monitor connects via zigbee instead of wifi so it works perfectly without the need to even assign it in the Tuya app (just import to Z2M direct) which is ideal. I am using this to monitor incoming power from the meter to the house (we have a few sub panels) so if power is out and the backups are running we would never know otherwise. Very easy to install if you are comfortable around electricity but you can easily hire an electrician to plug it all in for you - takes around 5 minutes tops even if they stop for a smoke break. Functions flawlessly so far and allows for easy automations and notifications in HA.
