A good multi-strike ink ribbon, genuine Smith Corona product, nice black color and good quality. Best if used with cover-up correctable tape and plain white paper. The advantage to this ribbon is that the ribbon can be struck over and over again and still print a character on the page, albeit with decreasing intensity as the ink runs out. This is a multi-strike ink ribbon, as opposed to the single-strike ribbon for use with lift-off correction tape, so the print hammer strikes the paper through the ribbon depositing ink onto the paper, which could smear or run if touched or wet. The single-strike ribbon deposits a black film (seems like a plastic film) on the paper which will not smear or run. This ribbon is perfect for typing practice because it's economical and re-usable. The single-strike ribbon would give better quality but at a higher cost.

easy to insert and very affordable,however, the ink ran out after a few hhundred pages. now its onto open office. I miss my old noisy typewriter. I gues I'lll do my novel on open office, but I'll but noter one, two at time.

The ribbons work well with our word processor. They are just not available anywhere else, as far as I know. So they work and they are still available here.
