My son is very picky as far as things that go over his head. He hates wearing hats and bike helmets. This was comfortable that he did not complain and try to take it off. It has vents that can be opened to provide some air on sunny days and closed when it's cold and windy. It is a great price at $40, which does not break the bank for Smith helmets. Although he didn't run into trees or have major impacts to the helmet, it seems solid and well built. The finish has stood up to the wear and tear of him tossing it on the table, carpet and laminate floor after use. It has been used about one and a half seasons and doesn't show obvious scratches. I have to get really close to it to inspect in order to see minor scratches. I would recommend this helmet as a parent of a kid who is not aware of caring for his equipment.

This is false advertisement. It is clearly stated MIPS in the heading, as well as item description. But the helmet does not have MIPS. This borders on dishonesty.The helmet also came without a Smith box (just arrived in an Amazon box). And no helmet carrier bag.Please check whatever items that you buy when they arrive because they may not be what is advertised.Also, Amazon charged me $20 for return shipping. Unbelievable.

Great helmet. Works well with ski goggles. Keeps your head warm without getting hot and adjustment vents allow you to fine tune. Wish the chin strap was a little more comfortable, similar to the Giro, but this one fit my head shape better. At this point cannot comment on how it works in a crash and hope to never find out.

Smith make some of the best ski helmets available. This is a great helmet at a very reasonable price. My head is 56 cm circumference and a fairly rounded shape. The medium size (55-58cm) is a good snug fit, very comfortable. It's also very light because of the in-mold construction. You can easily forget you're wearing it.I tried a few helmets from different makers to find one that best suited the shape of my head. I found Giro helmets too narrow with too much space front and back, for example,The Smith Mission helmets are also available with the MIPS safety feature. It's worth knowing that the MIPS liner reduces space inside the helmet. The medium size was too tight for me.

Wore this helmet to Colorado. Skied during the bomb cyclone and two days before. Kept me warm and never had any issues. Also kept me cool on a warm day. Although I never tested the actual function of this helmet by running into something I still would of looked cool doing it.

While I didn't purchase this helmet for myself, my dad really enjoyed it and he looked pretty good wearing it- at least he looked like he knew what he was doing on the slopes. I got the green one for him so I could spot him easily in the vast mountain ranges of Utah. He didn't get any concussions while wearing it, but he also didn't fall so, either way, the helmet worked. 5 stars.
