I purchased mine so I could practice within my own yard without too much worry about my shots going astray—very accurate up to 50 yards. The only issue is the reloading of the BB's. is not really conducive to loading easily, I wish they had thought about that better. You can buy an additional mag and at least be able to perform mag changes on the fly effectively.

I like just about everything. Black finish, comfortable shooting with white-dot sights. Nice bloweback. and very accurate. This is a classic piece. I was really surprised. When I first opened the box and dropped the magazine out of the pistol I was aghast to see an H&P look-alike magazine, which I swore I would never use again. Not THIS magazine. Works like a charm. See below. Performance is stellar. Published Spec on this pistol is 300 fps. Measurements with my Caldwell Crony on a 12 shot string was as follows. Hi velocity = 315 fps, Lo = 304 fps, Range = 11 fps, Average Velocity = 310.8 fps, SD = 3.2 fps, Variance = 10.3 fps. Trigger pull was smooth through firing point. Great blowback. If possible, I would have liked a little better performance in terms of fps. My H&K USP blowback averaged 343.8 fps with a very solid blowback, so a little more fps would have been nice. Ordinarily, I would have wanted a totally different type of magazine after using my H&K USP. The USP magazine has a screw-cap retainer for the CO2 cylinder chamber and provides pressure to puncture the CO2 cylinder. However, that cap is too short and fits too low on the frame so you can't get your fingers on the cap to hold it in place while you get the right threading. Each time I put a new cylinder in the USP it took over 20 minutes to get that cap on!!! And the spring was far too strong for a fingernail to hold it back to load 16 BBs. The S&W MP 40 retainer spring is easier to hold and you can load BBs from the top of the magazine, rather than at top of the retainer. Otherwise, I have no issues with the M&P.This M&P replica is a pleasure to use. Unlike the H&K, the S&W magazine works perfectly and you don't have to break your fingernails to load BBs and the CO2 cylinder cap is tall enough so you can actually hold it and screw it into the chamber very quickly. Although the M&P shoots a tad low, it is easily correctable by shooting a tad higher using the onboard iron sights. I was able to put 87% of my 16 round magazine shots into a 2" target from 18 feet consistently. Incidentally, although the H&K magazine looks like the M&P magazine and will fit into the M&P, it does not work in the M&P, I am disappointed to say. Overall, this pistol is a winner and a 5 star performer. If you want to actually hit your target with a BB pistol, this one's your Daisy.

This is the most realistic steel BB pistol available at this time. Definitely one to add to your collection. The only problem is that it shoots 5-6 inches low at 10 yards. This makes it unacceptable as a good target shooter, but luckily I have a fix!! First of all this gun actually has a hop up. The only steel BB gun I have ever seen with one. There is a screw on the bottom of the barrel breech and I was able to screw it in a few extra turns and could see the "hop up" moving inside the barrel. This helped a little with the gun shooting low but it was still not enough. The next step in correcting a low shooting gun is to adjust the sights. Unfortunately this gun does not have adjustable sights for elevation. You can adjust windage at the front sight but the rear has no adjustment. So like in the old days to correct a low shooting gun you start lowering the front sight by filing it down. I had to file the top of the front sight down about 0.050 inches lower. This made the top of the sight right at the top of the white dot. Used a black marker to "repaint" the bare metal and cover the white dot. It will now shoot to point of aim as good as my Umarex Colt Commander and my Cybergun Sig P226 X-Five steel BB pistols. Great fun on my backyard half scale steel challenge stages!!

Picked this up for draw and shoot practice in my basement, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with its look and feel. The only problem for my intended purpose is that the slide has very little spring tension holding it closed, which means you have to be sure to keep a little pressure on it when holstering or it gets pushed back in the process. On my first holstering I realized that there's not much way around this given the slide has to be able to operate with a little CO2 pressure, and making the spring tension any tougher would probably mean the slide wouldn't operate. So no big deal, just something to be aware of.Do you really need an operating slide? No, but this being my first/only such air gun, it's actually pretty slick that it does. I get about four dozen shots from a cartridge, and given how cheap CO2 is in quantity here on Amazon, I'm very happy with that. It's certainly a heck of a lot less expensive than about four shots for $1 for .40 S&W ammunition (about 2/3 that for reloads). The thing continues to fire with slide operating right up until the CO2 cartridge is just about empty, and manually operating the slide a few times with no BB's will exhaust the last little bit of pressure. The two things I really wish the manufacturer would fix that are most annoying: like others have stated, it's a pain to load and it shoots low. Shooting low is not a huge deal for me, but it's just not necessary since a small sight adjustment or barrel realignment would address this. Loading, however, is most annoying and it can be painful, literally. I finally figured out a process that works for me after I get tired of fighting with it: I've taken to using an Irwin mini bar clamp (with the rubber guards) to put a little pressure on the thing to keep it open while I pour bb's in. Using a loader makes it go much faster than trying to put bb's in one by one, but even with my loader, I found trying to hold that little piston thingie on the magazine a real pain. If it stuck out even another 1/32" it would be an improvement.Once loaded, it works great and is fun to shoot. As with any CO2 air gun, firing in quick succession will noticably reduce CO2 pressure behind the bb because things cool down. Waiting a little between shots minimizes this. Using it to draw and fire only one or two shots at a time works pretty well as the time it takes to reholster (holding the end of the slide) and observe one or two new holes in a target (at 6 o'clock, of course) gives things a little time to warm up.Overall I'm glad I got it as it does for me what I wanted it to. Just a reminder for purchasers: this thing looks real from up close, let alone any distance. Please don't even consider doing anything stupid with it that might get you or a kid hurt (or worse).
