Protect yourself against snake bite while in the desert or woods! THOUSANDS of people are bitten by venomous snakes (mostly rattlesnakes, copperheads and water moccasins) in the United States each year. Rattlesnakes possess a set of fangs with which they can inject large quantities of toxic venom. The venom travels through the bloodstream, destroying tissue and causing swelling, internal bleeding, and intense pain. Even non-fatal bites can cause severe pain and long-lasting tissue damage. Don't take a chance! Protect your lower legs whenever you're in snake country! TurtleSkin SnakeArmor Snake Gaiters are constructed from a super-tight patented weave of high-strength ballistic fibers and polyester. Most snake gaiters are heavy, stiff, and bulky. Weighing less than 6 ounces each, these gaiters are one-third the weight of other snake gaiters, yet are tested to repel even large rattlesnakes. Waterproof and windproof. Also protects against brush, briars, thorns that could scratch and poke your legs. Reversible; same solid Khaki tan color on both sides. Zipper and cinch strap and grommets ensure a good fit over pants. Wear with heavy boots or shoes that snake fangs cannot penetrate. Made in USA. Regular size: 20 inches Top of Calf, 17 inches Ankle, 16 inches Length. Many snake gaiters on the market are not foldable, however if you are backpacking or want to save storage space, you'll appreciate that the Turtleskin SnakeArmor brand folds to approx. 8 x 8 x 2 inches.

Pros: Very light weight fabric.Apparently it's been tested to work, unlike others.I'm 6'3" and these go up to my knee, which is exactly right. They have a top closure but I like to leave it open for air.Cons: These have no strap at bottom like most other chaps and gaiters you see. These need a large-tooth YKK-type zipper. The existing zipper is infuriating to get on.Given these "cons" these gaiters are very expensive. Most of us don't mind paying the price forpremium gear but it should contain the obvious upgrades I've mentioned. All that said, I will keep these because even with the defects and the price, they're better than anything I've found out there.

Used these guys(over my pant legs) with a 10" bungee cord to hold them down on boot top and went on multiple 5 to 7 mile hikes in the Phoenix and Tucson area. Its snake season and you better be prepared. I'm maybe 5'8" and the length was fine. They just disappeared as I hiked, never causing me to be constantly aware they were there.I would recommend to anyone.

The only thing I don’t care for are the zippers. Otherwise a fantastic product!

I have worn my pair for several years now in Montana Bird Hunting. Our upland season starts September 1 and we have snakes out until freeze up. The last few years I have been hunting in blue jeans and these gaiters. It is just me and my dogs hunting most of the time and feel way safer knowing I have these gaiters on. They are stiff enough I just put them on over my hunting boots without using the eyelets on them and they stay pretty well positioned most of the time. A couple of times I have had some difficulty with the zipper, I just sprayed the zipper down with some silicon which lubricated them and I am still going. I will buy another pair when these wear out, great product...
