I could see these working for a car in a pinch, but I feel like my truck might rip these straps and bend up the metal. Not a substitute for chains, but not a bad thing to have in case of an emergency since it's small enough to fit under the seat. Haven't had the occasion to need to use them yet, it seems like I might destroy them if I tested them.
