If you need a small fan for a small space, this is the unit you want!! This unit is very small!!!🤨 At just 17", logic says it will not move air compared to 42, 48, or 50-inch ceiling fans. This fan moves a minimal amount of air. The manufacturer's pictures showing this fan in use in a medium to large room are not accurate!!!😮 I ordered the fan knowing exactly where it would be placed and what it was supposed to do. The assembly of the fan was a breeze. The materials feel somewhat "cheap", but they need to be lightweight considering the small motor powering the fan. Our home has a small storage closet off the kitchen where extra chairs, paper goods, serving dishes, and other sundry items are stored. Often, this small room gets hot for no apparent reason. I ordered this fan to help keep me cool when my dear wife sends me into the sauna to find a certain "something" that is a must for entertaining or serving a meal at home. This unit is installed by simply screwing it into the light socket of an area. I did that and operated the fan using the wall switch to power the device. This fan moves lots of air in a space approximately 10 feet x 8 feet, I didn't lose my light because this fan has an LED fixture that is adjustable to different temperatures of light color and is dimmable!! NICE!!!😃 This fan is controlled by a remote and can be adjusted to six different speeds. In our small space, this fan functions perfectly!!! CONVENIENT!!!!😄 No longer will I have to sweat while searching for the elusive "something" my wife must have!!! ⚡NOTE⚡: Don't be fooled by the illustrations the manufacturer shows regarding the ability of this fan. It will not cool off a living room, dining room, or small bedroom. It was made for small areas such as over a workbench, a desk, directly over a chair, or the interior of a closet. 🚩I rate this ceiling fan an 8 out of 10 (or four out of five stars on the Amazon scale) because while the fan is very quiet and made well, it does not live up to the hype of being able to cool entire rooms!! It is a purpose-built device engineered to operate in limited conditions for limited purposes. Purchasing this ceiling fan with the hopes it will function as a true, full-sized unit will only lead to disappointment and future regret. It's great for what it was designed to do, but nothing more.😊

I’m wildly impressed with the power of this fan. We live in a poorly insulated home and this fan keeps the kitchen so cool. Very bright as well

This is such a convenient little device. The fan produces a remarkably forceful breeze in a small space — I’m using mine in a small enclosed back porch. Also, the light is shockingly bright on the higher of its nine dimmable settings. Additionally, the light temperature is adjustable and it feels REALLY bright on the cooler setting. The only reason I deducted one star is because the base that screws into the light socket is ever-so-slightly smaller than the light fixture that I had to finesse the device into the light fixture by angling it and screwing it in very delicately. The device weighs very little and I would have less concern about it falling out of the light fixture over time, however, with the added force of the fan turning, I am concerned that the device might work itself out of the light fixture at some point in the future. Should that occur, I will revise this review. For now, I am very pleased with this product.

If I had to describe this unit on one word, I might say "anomolous." But that would be generous. It works overall, but not as you would expect based on the enthusiastic product description. One problem is that the unit needs accurate instructions as to how the remote control works. Also: Not all functions work as the description suggests. For example: while the fan does work in two directions, as promised -- it can drive air down from the ceiling or suck it up from the floor -- the fan only works at low speed for the up function. In fact, when the fan is in the up function, if you try to change speeds, the fan reverses direction to the down function. But in the down function it works at every speed. As for the three light temperatures: the box and instruction sheet suggest that there is a button on the remote to change temperatures. But there isn't. To change temperatures, you turn the light off and then back on again. When you use a wall switch to turn it on and off, if you turn it on and off and on quickly, the light will change temperature. As for changing the brightness, there are buttons to change it up and down, but the down only works sometimes. You have to push it over and over again. And sometimes, if you hit the down button, the light turns off altogether. And it is not "infinitely dimmable." It goes up and down in steps. There is also a button on the remote described as "sleep air volume." But they don't tell you what it does.I tried it. The fan goes through a cycle of going up to high speed, then down to low speed, then back up again, and so on. Does the effect provide a better sleep experience? I have no idea. But since I have the unit in a hallway, for me the question is moot. When you push a button on the remote, it beeps. There's a sticker on the back that says if you push the circle button on the front, the beeping will stop. And it does. But once you turn the unit off and then turn it on again, the beeping comes back.At high speed, the fan does move a significant amount of air. And it's very quiet.Bottom line: If you set the light at the temperature and brightness you want and leave it alone after that, it's fine.If you want to use the fan to pull air in through a window, or pull cold air up from the floor, you can only do it at the low speed. If you want the fan to pull air down from the ceiling, you can use six speeds, and it works well.So...it's a pain to do anything other than change fan speeds when it's in pull down mode. For $38.99, I don't think so. On balance, it's kind of a one trick pony and more annoying than useful.
